Pre-Check Or Not

Checked the mail yesterday and among the piles of crap was my updated passport. Getting it back from the agency that takes care of them did not take as long as I thought it would which is cool. No extra fees or anything and probably took less than 6 weeks round trip.

Anyway, accompanying the updated passport was some documentation that I was not privy to. I guess the TSA now has a program that allows you to pre-check your credentials, identity and related ahead of time. Doing so I guess has the benefit of giving you access to a quicker line to get past the TSA checks, taking off your shoes and all of that fun stuff that goes hand-in-hand when traveling. I can only wonder, what happens when 70% or more of travelers have these, will it still be quicker?

Not really sure how I feel about this yet "big picture". But in reality because of other things I am legal to do along with my job and so on I would not be providing them with anything more than they already have readily available and on file. In all honesty I don't have anything to hide in the first place so filling out a form or paying a small fee to pre-check seems to be a no brainer.

I have a pretty good inclination that Cicely would not want to do it because she is 100x more standoffish to this sort of thing than I tend to be, within reason anyway. Plus now with kiddo in the picture it may help us out even that much more to get through the pain-in-the-ass part of traveling and enjoy the journey as it should be enjoyed.

Oh and on a positive note, my old passport made it back to me safe and sound as well. I was a little worried about that because it had a lot of stamps in there that are memories of travel gone by. The only difference is they punch a few holes in them so they are no longer valid. No big deal to me, I am a happy camper!

You May Pass

OK with that I think that will be the end of this entry for today. Not much else to rabble about as it has been a nice week, well other than doing reviews then planning to do the one on ones with my team next week. It's a necessary evil that takes up a great deal of time. I just hope that everyone feels the same way that I do about them. If not, I need to look into what I can do better in the future.

Photo: Shot of one of the fliers that accompanied my updated passport. Might have to consider this. Although convincing Cicely may be a much larger hurdle to overcome.
