Getting There

So the week is not slowing down in the least as I had thought it would by now had you asked me at the beginning of the week. I guess in some ways that is a really good thing because it means that I am getting a lot done and things are progressing nicely.

I guess that is the case for the most part. I was able to get all of my teams mid-year reviews pushed down to them by late Tuesday and about 80% of them were able to meet the deadline of getting them back to me by the end of the day yesterday, again a good thing in my book! Now I just need to track down the final few and push them a little extra to fill them out and submit before Friday.

Bike

Still no news or updates on a mountain bike. I have been researching them a little bit when I get time. Although between the new addition to the family, craziness at work and all of the other little things that life throws at you it can be hard to find the extra time to research. In reality the research will only do "so much" anyhow. At some point I will be forced to go to the local bike shop and talk to someone about them more, in person, sit and even ride a few to see what I like and what is the most comfortable for me and my riding style.

I was pretty satisfied with the information that I got from the big box sports store at the start of the week but once I researched some of the information I got from them it seems that the model and size of bike that I wanted them to order is actually available. They told me that it was not and that I would have to go with this other model. That one is awesome as well, even more-so actually but it comes with an additional $1000 price tag above what the other one was listed for. So in my head I have to wonder if this was all part of a fucking up-sell (sorry pisses me off if so, I am not a moron people) or is it valid and that model / size is available just not one they can get (doubt it if they are a authorized reseller of that particular brand).

Anyway enough ranting and more on this later as I said in yesterdays post. Really the only reason I am bringing it up again is because I was a little pissed off that I found out the models I was interested in were actually available - hence the previous minor rant.

About All

Well that is about all that I have for today. I need to bust some ass at work and get through the start of the teams reviews and go on from there. I need to have sit-down check-ins with each person on the team before the middle of May and that will require some additional preparation as well. I need to chat with a few of the other seasoned managers and get some good tips and tricks as well. I want everyone to feel that they are being heard 100% and that I value not only their work but what options they want so I can do everything I can to help them advance in their career development.
