Blue Apron

So I have made it to Saturday, well of course I would have made it and I am just being dramatic. Yesterday was the final day that I had to have a mega meeting day and while it was a long day and I learned a lot I do think that it was time well spent. I had and have a lot of the same ideas that I hear in these meetings but the problem is that I have a really bad delivery I guess because I have so many of these same ideas and input but rarely can I get those listening to fully understand them.

What happens is that then the ideas come up later and I either feel ripped off or pissed off for not being heard months or years before when I had the idea and submitted it to those around me. I think based off the things I heard that our leadership has some decent ideas going forward and I think my immediate director actually has a love for the business and his group which makes it much easier for all of us to want to do good for him.

I do think there are a few, or at the very least one huge kiss ass in the mix that annoys more than meets the eye. Tends to be a bit of an over achiever and does not realize that he is not the first one to freeze some water and realize its an ice-cube. Ever tried to reason with someone like that? Yea if so you know what I am going to say - they still don't "get it" or tend to be offended or something. I don't know, its just wasted time and effort with someone like that. This one in particular I really cant stand in the least and annoys the hell out of me.

Anyway enough about that - the best part of the day was that we were allowed to go down and play some of the games and walk the casino floor for a couple hours. I chose to use this time to head out and go home early. It has been a really long week for me and I have missed out on a lot of work so I wanted to just chill out and call it a day.

As of today I have not done much other than organize photo's and videos again in my albums, but it is a good feeling to have it making progress. Only real issue is that it does not feel like a tangible thing that appears to be something accomplished like if I had hung some shelving or raked the lawn - if that makes sense.

Grub

So today was the first delivery of our new service we started about a week ago. My sister turned us on to this company called Blue Apron. They send you 3 meals a week packaged with everything you need to make those 3 meals and the recipe. I honestly have no idea how in the hell they are able to do it and make a profit to be perfectly honest.

All of the ingredients look great and are great proportions. When you are given a nice strong box lined with a gel like substance that keeps everything frozen and fresh. The box is filled with everything from meats and spices to the veggies and aromatics.

The service only costs us $60 for the package that we started out with. I sure hope they are around for the long run and we can continue to enjoy the service every week. To some this may sound a little expensive but it's not, I actually think it may be a little on the inexpensive side if you were to run out and try to get all of the necessary ingredients, much less shipped to your door.

Swept Up

With that I need to finish getting a little more content uploaded to my Smug library and then get out in the garage and at the very least get the new cabinet mounted that I put together over 2 weeks ago. Pretty sad to be honest, I should have had that hung up long ago but I have been so lazy and full of everything but the energy that I need to complete the tasks.

This Monday we have the concrete and drainage guys coming out to do the work we have been wanting to do so that is super exciting as well. It's supposed to be in the low 70's out so that will be great for the work to be done and the concrete to dry as it should.

I just hope they dont do a half-ass job. Tearing up part of the grass and digging up the side for proper drainage and concrete is not an easy task - I hope they are up to the challenge.

Photo: Flipping of the first box of goodies from Blue Apron. We are super excited and cant wait to try out the food and recipes. Big thanks again to my sis for telling us about it!
