Crowdfunding Addict

Today has been the typical Sunday - farting around in the morning trying to not let the day actually begin even though we know it will with or without us getting up and moving. I did manage to get up at a decent time and have some coffee and make Oggy his breakfast. Unfortunately he turned his nose to it today again because I think he is still feeling a little crappy from the days at the daycare last week. It's totally apparent that it takes a lot more out of him than we realize.

As I type this he is laying next to me, snuggled up in my favorite blanket that he is not always allowed to curl up in. Not because he messes it up, but because he gets so much hair stuck in it ha ha. I just hope he starts feeling better again like yesterday. More than likely he will continue to get better he just needs some rest I think.

Campaign

So my addiction to crowd-funding has not let up and wont let up any time soon I think. This weekend I have already funded a couple more, three actually. One of the ones I was putting off for quite some time is this box that you store you firearm in. This way you can safely take it with you, keep it next to your bed and so on but locked up and only open-able with your RFID ring / bracelet or by using the biometric fingerprint reader.

It's a really cool, well built device and I think its super important to have now that we have baby on the way. We will teach her about firearms and firearm safety of course but rather than leave anything to chance while she is learning about them or if she ever has friends over and so on I don't want to take any risks. The campaign required a $225 donation which is a lot, but based on the mass produced models that are out there this one blows them away in many ways and even adds a lot of features that none of them have or have probably even considered.

I look forward to getting it, I think sometime in late December of this year. Once I do I will post a photo or steal a nice hi-res one off of their website so you can see what it looks like.

The other campaigns that I supported were much smaller. The one is for a kit to teach various electronics. Its from the same guy that I bought the last 2 kits from, he started up this new campaign with a bigger kit along with video tutorials and a companion book - super cool!

The last item for the weekend was this cool item that you put on your keyring called the charge key, they also have one called the charge card. Basically it allows you to charge your iPhone (or Android) devices with any USB port rather than have to look for an outlet and carry the charge cable and block with you. I think it will be a really cool device to have and it was a great idea. The only negative is if Apple decides to change their port again it will be rendered useless. I have a pretty good feeling that they will not do that for many years since they just changed when the iPhone 5 released.

House

Today I am dumping a few bags, yes bags, of river rock out on the side of the shed next to the new concrete that was poured. I went the bag route from Home Depot so we don't have to find a wheel barrel, get the rock delivered and pay the $50 or so for the delivery. The bags are actually a bit of a pain in the ass but for this actually a little easier.

Then I have some quick set style cement that I bought. I am going to try and recreate the curbing for the mower from the area that they cut up to the concrete pad they poured. I dunno if I will be able to do it because of the shape but I figured it is worth a shot. Worst case it looks like ass and I pick it up and throw it away.

I would only be out about $10 to $20 for the test which is not that bad considering it will probably cost me 10x that to have someone come out and do it. If it works out I will have to show it off as one of my photo's for one of my upcoming entries.

Dried Out

That will have to do it for today. The day is nearly half over and I have not made it outside because it is so nice and comfortable in the house. There is a slight fall breeze and the windows are open so not only does it smell nice, but the sound of the leaves falling and wind blowing is about to put me to sleep to be perfectly honest.

Can't let that happen, gotta get my butt in gear before I get even more lazy. I think I will crack open a cheap domestic beer (Coors Light today) and get some work done so I can feel a little proud of my weekend accomplishments. Hope your day / weekend has been great! If not just remember that The Walking Dead is on tonight, that can make any weekend great!

Photo: Our second shipment came from Blue Apron as I mentioned yesterday. Here is a peek inside the box of goodies they ship to our door every Saturday.
