Autumn

Just yesterday I was looking out the window visually surveying the plants, trees and lawn in the backyard while watching what Oggy was up to. He was mostly just doing his usual perimeter check and sniffing. It's weird, there is something very calm and gratifying watching him do so - he seems in the moment and very proud of his loop around his yard.

Fast forward to today and in the blink of an eye the trees have changed from just a lighter shade of color on the leaves to them falling on the ground and changing to all of the amazing colors that fall brings along with it. I guess it's mother natures way of giving us something positive before the cold icy days of winter are upon us.

The rush rush of the holidays and the thoughts of a new year are ahead of us but she wants us to stay in the moment, reflect a little on what spring and summer brought into our day-to-day.

For us this has been and continues to be a very exciting year and a major learning experience now that we are expecting a little one to join us in our adventures. We have so much to teach and so much to learn and while it can feel overwhelming at times it is already more rewarding than anything else I have done.

I guess fall has a way of making you see the changes around us. Making us rethink some of our own actions or plans so we too can prepare for change. I think it's time for me to shed my leaves for the year in the coming weeks and prepare for the wonderful things to come this winter, spring and forward from there.

Rake

Alright it's time to rake this entry into a pile and discard it for now. Tomorrow will be a little colder and a little darker as winter approaches. I plan to stay warm and make light of the dark as I can.

Photo: Hello Fall / Autumn, it's nice to see you again - go easy on us k!
