I can remember one year that winter started much earlier but that is the only one off-hand. That year it was so bad in the valley we had enough snow in the hills that several ski resorts opened early. I went up and rode because they had $5 lift tickets if you had a costume. No sweat, I borrowed an old mask, got my ticket, put the mask in the car and boarded all day for next to nothing!
The conditions were nothing to write home about of course but good enough to have a good time. I don't think there was enough snow in the mountains last night for any to open early but it could be a sign that they will have a better winter than last season.
Concrete
So luckily we had the concrete work done last week while it was in the 70's and dry. This weekend and today is wet, cold and windy with leaves blowing around. I don't think they could have done it in this weather.
All-in-all it looks like it cured good enough and I think they are completely done. There is one spot in the front of the shed that is a little low but I think that is just how it will have to be.
That has pretty much always been the area of concern. At least it is not filling up anymore or draining towards the house which is good. I am just hopeful that it continues to work. Last nights storm was not as big as some of the others where it rains for days and days.
I guess time will tell and we will have to wait and see. Without a ton of work I don't think there is much more they could do to be honest. Worst case I took a video of the area and the small puddle in case I need some evidence to have it reworked a little bit.
Otherwise
Other than that it is just the start of a new week and lots to do. I want to get ahead on my game and make some good progress this week if nothing else.
Halloween is Thursday and we are worried about mom opening the door. Hopefully she will not get very many kids and if she does then maybe she will simply look out the window and ignore them. Otherwise cheers to a great week!
