Rain, Now Snow

Our new drainage setup we had installed last week is really being put to the test already. They finished everything on Friday and we only had one warm day after that. Sunday was decent just really windy, with rain that night. Monday was more of the same - rain off and on all day and last night and into this morning.

Everything seems to be working good. The drip, drip, drip in the gutter is a little loud in the bedroom but you almost get into a rhythm and sleep to it. Is much more muted than it was before though so that is cool. It does puddle a little in front of the shed as I mentioned before but it drains off to the other side pretty good so I think we are ok.

The mountains are getting fairly hammered with fresh snow after the long dry summer and not so wet winter last year. So hopefully as I have mentioned before, the resorts will get a decent snow pack this year and be able to make some money as well as give all of us snowboarders somewhere to go besides the resort bar. Don't care much about the skiers, they can stay home.

Vroom

Gotta take the Sportage turbo in for warranty work today. The chrome door trim pieces are peeling due to a defect in the plating. The parts showed up over a week ago but I have been too busy to make an appointment so today is the day to get 'r done.

Little Kicks

So I'm already a bad papa. Last week Cicely was finally feeling the first kicks of baby and I was unable to feel them - they were just too light. Well the next day she was getting a bunch more kicks and I finally felt a couple little bumps, OMG so freaking cool.

I have to admit even though we have seen pictures of her from the ultrasound and now that I have felt her kick it is still surreal that there is a little "us" growing in there. I don't know why it's weird to me, it just is. I actually think most of it will continue to be that way, surreal that is, until the day that she is born. Even then it is going to be weird like "is she really ours"?

Even watching Cicely's belly grow it still does not seem like "what it is". Maybe once I start building the baby furniture and that sort of thing it will start to become more of a reality. Either way it's one heck of an experience already!

Drain

Alright that will have to do it for today. I have to get moving so I can get my car into the shop to have the work done as mentioned. Otherwise an average Tuesday. I am looking forward to getting a lot done at work and listening to the rain outside my office window.

Photo: Quick shot out the window. Can't even see the mountains today.
