For example today I watched a review on a new multi-scanner I have had my eye on for quite some time. Well the review was actually on the companies newest model so that peaked my interest from the start. Once the video was over I was sold and ready to lay down some hard earned cash. I cruised on over to Amazon and did a quick search and whatta you know, there it is, it's on sale and it's Prime eligible which means free 2 day shipping for me since I am a member of that service.
Suddenly it hits me, there are a few things we need to stop and get at the drugstore this week after work, boo! I will roll the dice and see if Amazon has these items. Doubtful hey will have the detergent I use, the supplements I am almost out of and the stain remover I need to get another bottle of. Even if they have it my guess is that it will either be more expensive or not Prime eligible so shipping will gouge my wallet.
Suffice to say I was completely wrong and was able to find everything I was looking for. It was either slightly less expensive or about the same price and honestly had it been exactly the same price or even some items a tad more, some a tad less it would still be worth it. My time, gas driving around and simply trying to remember these items is a big enough pain. I can now rest assured that it will all be waiting on my doorstep in only two days time.
No this is not the first order I have ever done this way or the last. I have been doing this for years and years. Heck even when I had to pay shipping it was still advantageous to go that route and save the running around time.
I basically was able to get all of my odds and ends shopping list done while I had some coffee this morning and I don't have to give it another thought until next time - technology is awesome. I think this is going to really help out when baby is here as well. Getting diapers, wipes and so on. Not to mention you can have reoccurring shipments of things as well which lessens the remembering and planning as well, stuff just magically shows up when you need it - I for one friggin' love that!
Ship It
So that will do it for today, I was just thinking about this as I finished getting ready this morning and realized how spoiled I have become. I live the fact that things are just a click away and show up two days later 99% of the time.
Now we just need technology to work out a way to let me purchase and print that juicy burger I have been craving all day today - minus the onions of course!
