Sliced Tire

Went outside today to fill up and top off the air in Cicely's VW Beetles tires because as usual, ever since the weather has gotten colder her low tire pressure alert has been going off.

Upon closer inspection I noticed a big slice in the sidewall. Not sure how that happened or if the tire just split. They are warrantied to 40k miles and we are only at 36k I think so maybe it will be a no charge situation. I doubt it, and even if not they only run like $84 each. If we can get away with just buying one all the better, but I have a feeling we will be better off getting 2.

With winter coming up it's not a bad idea. Problem is, we turn the car back in at lease-end in 5 or 6 months so I would rather not give them brand spanking new shoes! Ahh fun stuff, I am just thankful that nothing happened like it blowing out or going completely flat on her. I worry about that crap even more now that she is carrying baby.

Calendar Hunting

So I spent most of the day, well from about noon until nearly 4:00 PM looking at various calendar apps to basically replace the one that come stock in iOS 7. Don't misunderstand, it is not specifically a iOS 7 problem at all, it has been an issue since earlier versions as well. The new iOS just prompted me even more-so to do something about it. Cicely and I have been using the calendar, notes, reminders and so on more and more. With the addition of her appointments for baby and her well being, my appointments and life otherwise in general it gets messy trying to keep it all straight.

I am not sure if I have found "the one" yet, but the one I am considering seems to do pretty much everything you could possibly want and then some. It integrates into a lot of other very popular applications as well which is a plus. Most of which I do not use currently but would consider down the road to replace some of the checklist type applications and note taking applications I currently use. The more I can integrate into a single location the better.

It is the most expensive application out of the bunch of course. With a selling price of $13 on the appStore it is double any other app I looked into. But keep in mind, several of those require add-ons and in-app purchases should you want additional features. Plus they do not have near the customization ability. I figure for something I use more than most any other app on my phone it is worth it. Plus Cicely will be able to install it so really it's only $6.50 which is not bad for something so powerful. Oh I never mentioned - the name of the app that I am pulling the trigger on is Pocket Informant Pro, by WebIS. I can't wait to start using it this week and see how it works out for me. The only real unknown, as with most of them, is if I will be able to tie into the Exchange server at work. If not, I will have to just manually enter those calendar items as I do now - no biggie.

Trim It

Ok, time to end it for today. I have to get my butt in the kitchen because Cicely is waiting for me so she can give me my haircut for this 2 weeks. I cant wait, it seems like it has been a month since the last time I had it cut - super fluffy and annoying!

Hope your weekend was a great one and you either did everything you wanted to or rested up for the week ahead. I did not do a lot of either of those, just dabbled in them both.
