Super-crazy-early-day for us today. We have an event called "True Colors" our game studio is doing. Basically it sounds very similar to this class called emergenetics I did back in 2006.
With emergenetics you are given some questions with no right or wrong answers just like True Colors. The answers you provide determine an outcome of your personality traits - loosely anyway. These are pie charted and given to everyone as a road map of every one's way if working, thinking and so on.
True Colors it's basically the same but you are assigned a specific color that defines you. Meaning your preferred work style, communication methods - email vs. face-to-face or maybe structured vs. go with the flow for example.
You are then grouped up and mixed-in with other personalities to see how everyone works through simple tasks differently. This exercise also gives you the chance to sort of take a mental note of the people you work with day-to-day and better understand their personality and how to communicate with them better or understand them more.
No matter the outcome or my True Color, which I will add to this entry later today, it should be an interesting exercise. The directors and above took the class a couple months back and my director had such a good time that he thought it would be fun and educational for the rest if the studio to do. While I would rather just work today I do appreciate the effort and cost involved to allow us all to take this class and basically burn the better part of a workday.

So that will do it. I will come back and add in my color information and hopefully a short description of what it means later today. **photo's below
Tonight is our weekly stop over at moms house which is always tough for me mentally. To see her going down hill like this is really hard, but it's also good because I know she is safe and I get to give her hugs! Hopefully we can get her into a home sooner than later. I don't like the idea of it, but at the same time I think it will help to stimulate her mentally as well as make certain that she is getting the care and attention she not only needs, but deserves.
Tomorrow is our studio all-hands meeting, then a short 1 hour break before heading to Grand Sierra to do some bowling, team building and even a little inner studio competition for cash prizes and a sweet ass trophy! I would love to have the trophy to add to my collection :). It's unfortunate that I am not a very good bowler so my chances are slim to none unless I get lucky.
