Training & School
So yesterday I had a real eye-opener regarding the time I am investing into school and training at work and outside of work. I had to go through my calendar up to August of this year and figure out what the best days were for me to be able to take a certification class at work. It's a really expensive certification so it's not something I want to screw up one paid for and scheduled.
Anyway, going through the calendar it quickly became apparent that I was missing nearly 17 days not including the 2 for the certification that starting the process. Wow, that is a lot if time over the course of only 4 months for me.
Normally I do not miss work and am rarely sick, actually have had less than a handful of sick days in my 13+ years at the company. I take vacations of course but thankfully don't get sick - let's hope that does not change with kiddo in the picture now and going to daycare.
Anyway this made me realize how lucky I am to have such a great studio and management above my management level that not only allows me to take the time to complete these programs but also pays for them and my time away from the studio. I mean I am never really "away" from the office, I am always in contact with my team via email and phone calls but out of the office none-the-less so no face-to-face time if necessary.
This also brings up the fact that I have such a great team that they can run almost autonomously if needed for short periods of time. Again, I am thankful for that and will take partial credit as their manager, wouldn't you?
So there is no real point of overall takeaway from this part of the entry other than I think it's important to step back once in awhile whether at home or at the office and look at the big picture. I think most times you will find that the things you were most stressed or pissed off about are easily over rules by positives. On the other hand if this is not the case then it may be a great identifier that it's time to start looking for change and something that fits "you" better.
Kiddo
So Zoey had a bit of a fussy night last night around 3 AM. I think she was just extra hungry after sleeping through one of her earlier feelings so it was understandable of course. More on us than her obviously so we can't fault her for the fussiness.
Once the bottle was warmed, diaper changed and digestive system burped she was good to go and back to sleep again until it was time to wash, rinse and repeat the process at 7 AM.
Enjoy
Have a great day what ever it is you are doing. If you are at work, kick some ass! If you are off work - you suck and I hate you ha ha kidding - but make the best of it! Until tomorrow have a good one!
