I had set up an important email asking several of the peeps on my team if they would be interested in a special project that is potentially on the horizon and if so, to please get back to me so I can take that information to a meeting regarding said topic today. You know, all that crazy kind of preparation stuff that us managers have to do.
I decided that I had better check one thing that I may or may not have put in the email and would add it as an addition this morning. Once I started looking around it quickly became apparent that the email was nowhere to be found, wonderful! This can only mean one of 2 things; either when I made the very last change last night I somehow deleted it rather than saved and closed it (not likely because I would still have a trace of it somewhere in Outlook).
Secondly and probably what actually happened, is that my computer crashed at some point when I left for the night and for some reason the email simply never sent. My problem with that is that once again it should still exist SOMEWHERE?? In my drafts, outbox, deleted, recovered or something.

I guess it's obvious what my number one priority will be this morning then. I just hope that I don't have to try to compose the entire thing again. There was a lot of data and research that went into creating it in the first place.
What's more is that if I had my new battery backup that I requested from IT/IS and there was a power surge I would have been OK. I guess I had better light a fire under someones ass about getting that replaced ASAP as well.
It was nice to have a couple productive days but it looks as though today will be more of a day where I run around and attempt to tie up a bunch of loose ends that managed to unravel over night. Gotta love it when that happens huh?
**Update: No idea where the email went, but found it in my outbox. I am not sure why that folder was not syncing with my mobile devices or web based emails clients. No matter I am happy that I was able to find it and send it on to the necessary recipients. Retyping it would have been a pain in the ass to say the least.
Days Over
That will have to do it for today. Tomorrow we are doing a few events starting with a lunch at noon for the studios then an Easter egg hunt with prizes and related. Everything from free lunches at our company cafeteria to gift cards for iTunes and local shops around town. Should be a good time and more than likely we will be getting out an hour or 2 early which will be the icing on our Easter cupcakes that's for sure!
