Temperature Boomerang

So yesterday around noon I was really happy because I found out that Zoe's temperature had finally broken in the staying down near normal for quite a while. This meant that she could probably go back to school today and also start feeling better which is the most important part of it all.

Fast forward to last night around seven or 8:00 PM and her temperature started to go up a little bit again but worst she started having a lot of rumbling in her digestive track. We are not sure if it was the Pedialyte that Cicely gave her or if it was due to the cold and vaccines and stuff. No matter this just made her feel even worse once again so not only was she dealing with the upset stomach she was dealing with a bit of a head and chest cold.

Cicely stayed up with her most of the night and ended up finally coming to bed at around 4 AM. Zoe slept until nearly 830 or nine this morning before waking up upset again. Cicely checked her temperature only to find that it was back up to 102° which meant that Cicely was staying home today and so we would be drinking ibuprofen for breakfast.

I finally was able to get Zoe to drink a bottle of milk and then have some water. After that I decided to try some of her baby food which she also ate until she was full or just tired of eating it and not feeling good. That makes me feel a lot better knowing that she is eating and drinking although all I really want is my baby girl to be back to normal.

On the positive side of things she did let me use the nose-booger and snot sucker tool to get some of the crud in her nose out that has finally loosened up. She is not usually a big fan of the nose vacuum tool but tolerated it really good today and I was able to get a decent amount out and hopefully make her feel better.

While I was at it, poking and prodding at the poor kid I went ahead and cleaned the potatoes out of her ears as well. Thinking that anything I can do to make her feel clean and get any goop off of her will only help to make her feel better and mentally be able to get some rest, I hope.

Same exact thing can be said for Cicely as well. She has been up with Zoey all week and every night. On top of that making dinners as well as keeping everything else in line that she normally takes care of. She is one hell of a rock-star that's for sure even though I'm doubtful that she realizes it.

Hopefully by tomorrow Zoey is back to normal and can go to school and Cicely can get back to work, I know she is burning through some DTO at the moment and that sucks. If she gets sick or something that could force her to have to work when she really shouldn't be. Let's hope for brighter days ahead!
