Saturday is finally here and that means free time to rest and relax a little bit as well as get things done that we have been putting off during the workweek or needing to wait until the weekend to take care of for one reason or another.
Kiddo
Cicely said that Zoey did much better yesterday and was in a much better mood as well all day which is great news! Zoey is still coughing quite a bit which wakes her up constantly although she is definitely resting better than she has been able to the rest of this week.
She is still not eating very much or drinking much for that matter. I am not too concerned about it at this point unless it goes on for a couple more days. My guess is that she has a sore throat and probably a funny taste in her mouth from being sick. That mixed with simply not feeling 100% is enough to make anyone lose their appetite.
Cicely still had to sleep on the couch and the lay-z-boy last night. Well she did not 'have to', rather chose to do she could hear Zoey more easily if she woke up coughing, crying, puking or a combination of any of those. Hopefully she actually got a decent amount of sleep. She has not slept much this week as it is and still plans to go do some shopping today at a new store opening, then tomorrow go to a women's health fair as well. As much good as I think it will do her to get out, she needs to sleep more as well.
Cycling
As I write this I am planning (in my head) where I am going to cycle to today. I am it sure at this point if I am in a distance mood or a climbing mood. Heck part of me is even considering taking the mountain bike out for a spin, problem is I can get so much more time and distance out of the road bike.
Yeah, Yea I know, it's not all about the miles or the amount of time spent. For me it's the fun of being out there riding. At the same time, when I want to go far or fast or both it does mean that I need to make a decision regarding which bike I will take out. The same amount of time spent on the mountain bike can be as much as 1/3 the distance. Although it can also be two times the elevation depending where I venture off too!
Possibly more on the ride later if I am in the mood to do more typing. Otherwise I have a lot of crap to take care of today to get the yard ready for spring and summer as well as the not-so-fun paying of bills that I put off this week.
No matter, it's the weekend, I have a few vacation days coming up as well as a dental appointment, so there are some things to look forward to and others not-so-much! Let's just hope there is no need to come back in for fillings, seems there is always a flippin' need to come back and partially why I get so annoyed with appointment in general. Better save that rant for another day though.
Photo: One of three badges that I earned cycling this month. This one is for going 13,000 feet or more. As far as the other two go, one is for doing a 100k and one is for doing this 'adventure challenge' where you had to go to new places or a new place while out cycling. On top of that you had to take photos along the way and be cycling for two hours or more. It sounds like a lot, in reality its not that much more difficult, especially once in the groove, two hours flies by.
