Home With A Temperature

Well today Cicely and Zoey are home trying to help to get Zoey over her high temperature that she has been running since yesterday afternoon. I have a feeling and hope, that by tomorrow she should be feeling a lot better.

It's just that right now she's going through everything from teething to her body adjusting to the vaccines that she had to get at her last check up for her one year boosters and any of the necessary new shots.

This morning before I left for work she seemed to be doing really good other than having a major diaper blowout just before I was leaving. Thankfully it was not all over me, unfortunately it was all over Zoey and Cicely as well as some on the carpet - wow, kids are messy that's for sure - ha!

Cubed Class

Last night I was finally able to finish my class that has been haunting me for the past few weeks. Its a required class for managers that deals with harassment in the workplace of all types as well as what to do and how to handle each type of harassment, whether you think the person is simply being overly sensitive or not - that is not the way to look at it.

Instead it needs to be a confidential conversation, and you as the manager need to assure that person that it will be confidential as well. The only way it will not be is when I talk to the HR department to alert them as to what is going on and validate any additional steps to better protect and investigate the situation as a whole. Assuring them that the company does not tolerate this type of behavior and steps of some for will be taken, and to thank them for coming forward with it.

In the long run, this little bit of documentation and conversation can help a company to avoid both losing an otherwise great employee or the potential for that employee taking matters into his/her own hands and coming back with a lawsuit, not something anyone wants to deal with. I can only imagine how stressful and time consuming they must be.

All For Today

Well that is all that I have time to rabble about today. I need to dive into a few things that I want to take care of here at work for some of my team members with regards to getting them new or improved hardware to work on. At the moment a few of them are working on very outdated monitors that are in my opinion, crap and should have been replaced long ago. I just found out about them so there was not much, if anything I could do before now.

That said, now that it's on my radar I plan to take care of it and get it not only off of my radar but checked off of my ever growing list of 'to-do's' both here at work as well as the list of them at home. Thankfully with the help of Cicely the past few days I have been able to get several of the ones at home checked off and I am super happy about that! Thanks Cicely, you are the best!

Okay then, have a great day! I am going to do my best to do the same and try to remain focused. Otherwise the first thing that happens is that my mind starts to wander off and I think about what is going on with my baby girl at home and how Cicely is doing as well. Oggy on the other hand has been doing great lately (knock on wood) so he will be a great caregiver today if Zoey does not be mean toward him as she usually does.

Not intentionally of course, it's more that she does not realize the difference yet between gentle, soft, hard and so on. To Oggy, most of the time I think he is thinking "what in the hell is wrong with this little person, whacking me in the head when I am napping?!?" Lately he has become a little more aggressive with her. I don't think he would ever hurt her, and I do think she needs to know that he means business and cant tease him etc. Otherwise they tend to play tug-o-war on occasion and have a blast, as do we watching them do so!

Photo: The newest gel food that I am giving a go next ride. There is nothing wrong with the GU gel that I have been using I simply wanted to try CLIF as well. Plus I am trying to stay away from all of those with caffeine.
