Danika's Birthday Dinner

Today after we get off of work we are heading downtown to go to the Eldorado and meet Cicely's family to celebrate her sisters birthday. She wanted to go to this place called Roxy's which is cool with us as well and a great choice.

I will admit that I don't remember what the food tastes like there or what exactly is on the menu as it's been years since eating there last. Normally when we go to Roxy's it's to have drinks and hang out with friends.

The place is best known for having something like 100+ variations of martinis. Everything from the traditional version to those that are made to taste like cotton candy, lemon drops, chocolate and all things between. I'm not sure if I will have any drinks since I want to ride on the trainer after work though. The temptation will be there for sure, they are really tasty and hard to pass up. Plus it will be fun just to be there with her family.

Work

Back to work today as it is in fact already Monday morning. The weekends go by so fast anymore and if you are not careful, blink too many times, you will have completely missed both days.

In a couple of weeks we will have a longer weekend because of taking extra days and the fact that it's Good Friday. I'm considering taking even one more extra day beforehand to sort of chill and waste it away in whatever manner I see fit. We will have to see how that goes.

Otherwise this week I really need to get this class done at work that I am behind on. It's due the middle of this week and I am running out of time quickly. It's supposed to only take two hours although it's feeling more like it's going to take double that. Nothing I can do but stick with it and complete it. All leadership is required to do it and pass.

Home Early

Today we received a call from the day care that Zoe had a temperature of over 101°. This meant that we had to pick her up and take her home for the rest of the day unfortunately. It's never fun to know that she is not feeling well and it's also never fun to have to go home early on a Monday. Once we were home, we gave her some milk as well as some Tylenol and she seemed to be doing better and fell asleep. By the time she woke up, her fever has broke and she was ready to go to dinner with us.

The only bad part is now she has to stay home tomorrow as well. It's one of the rules with the school that if the child goes home with a high fever they have to be out at least one more day just in case it's something nasty or contagious. We are almost certain it's because she just had her shots recently and nothing more than that. I am just glad she is feeling better, or at least seems to be and is in good spirits right now and was all night at dinner.

Dinner

Dinner tonight at Roxy's was great. It ended up just being a few of us instead of the entire family and it was perfect along with a meal that was great. I think Zoey and Cicely had a really good time as well and enjoyed their dinner too.

Zoey also got to try lots of different foods as well, then have some cake, okay a massive slice of cake, after dinner and singing happy birthday. This is something she always likes as does Cicely. For them both it's an added bonus for the sweet tooth they both possess.

Photo: Cool coaster that Cicely's mom brought us when she came down at the first of the month. There is a whole set, Zoey plays with them mostly.
