New Bike's Here!

Okay so yesterday I was a little pissed off because the night before my road bike was being a complete asshole on the trainer. The rear dérailleur was not working for nothing and no matter how much I would adjust it, it would continually be out of adjustment, the indexing would be screwed up or a combination of both. I managed to lump it through the entire ride that I wanted to do that evening unfortunately my focus was on the dérailleur and not my cycling as it should have been.

Yesterday

So yesterday I decided that I would get in touch with the bike shop that tuned up my bike for me last time and determine if they could adjust it again, put a new transmission on it or something, anything so I could focus on my rides.

As I expected, their advice was for me to bring the bike in and let them look at it as well as check to see how I was riding the bike to better understand if part of the problem was the setup and my riding style possibly. I planned to go in around 11:00 and see what could be done.

Ring Ring Ring

I had just came back from the gym when Cicely sent me a text message at work telling me to answer my phone. Odd message but okay. I waited, next thing I knew my phone was ringing and when I answered it was the bike shop. Not the one we had talked to earlier, instead the one that has my new bike on order.

The first thing the guy on the phone says is, "guess what I have been building today and is sitting right in front of me?". Holy shxt, was i immediately excited and replied with "woo hoo, are you kidding me!!??". Nope it's all done and only needs the bar tape put on so they were calling to verify the color and type that I was looking for this time.

Also letting me know that I can come pick it up tomorrow (today) and what times I could do so. Awesome news to say the least and probably one of the best weekends to have it show up to be perfectly honest. Today is supposed to be warm and the weekend is supposed to continue to get even warmer with temperatures climbing all the way up to the 70°'s by the time we get to Monday!

Honestly I am considering taking Monday off and going for a nice long ride on my brand spanking new bike. Well and to break in my new helmet, shoes, pedals and related stuff I bought. I am going to mention to the guys today that I may be interested in the bike they have on the website as well if they actually have it on hand or will take my current one in as a sort of trade in or something.

Then I will use it for the trainer and for any shxtty weather rides to avoid screwing up my brand new bike. Although it will be tough going from a Ferrari to a Yugo.

Picked It Up

Alright so I was able to go down to the bike shop before work this morning and pick up my new bike. Holy crap is all I can say, it's amazing. I cannot believe how good it feels and how well it shifts. Also it's extremely fast and responsive.

I'm REALLY looking forward to going for a spin this weekend and seeing how it feels on the longer rides. I have a feeling that it's going to be great and I will have a lot of fun with it. It would be sweet to get some records out of it on my Strava segments that I have been working on the past year when I started cycling as a little added bonus.

Lost

So that is it for today. I actually had a lot more types but switching between the mobile and browser version of Blogger somehow killed all the other paragraphs I had written about this other bike I am looking at. Oh well, it sucks but it happens and thankfully only twice to fade out of 900 or so posts.

I am still considering other tools for Zoey's website besides Blogger because of things like that. Problem is that they are all expensive and Blogger is 100% free.
