Finally for once on a Saturday I was up and out of the house before noon to go for a bike ride. I was actually up and out of bed just after seven although by the time I had breakfast and Zoey got up I wanted to hang out for a little while and visit. It's actually a really good thing that because there was a few things I was waiting for from UPS to be delivered and they came just before I left. I could not have planned it better than that.
In the end I was able to get in a really good ride. It was windy, thankfully not as windy as it was last weekend. My mileage was just over half of what I accomplished last weekend as well although intentionally so.
Adventure Competition
For the last part of this month Strava is doing another competition where you need to do a ride of at least 2 hours in time, taking photos along the way to show that your ride was somewhere unique and it was documented. I ended up with only four photos and for a good reason - I was out to ride not stop and take a ton of photos, granted it's cool to look back at them.
So I had photos from essentially point 'A' of my ride through the end, or point 'B' of my ride which is the way I like to do it. I did this accidentally last weekend and thought it was really cool and showed how my ride progressed and where I went along the way.
Once I was home I had just over 41 miles behind me and it felt great as always. The two hours was accomplished and I was rewarded with my award badge on Strava along with the opportunity to purchase a challenge achiever jersey.
This month I have achieved the 100km competition goal, the 13,000 feet climbing challenge and now the two hour adventure. I completed my weekly 50 mile goal as well because of today's challenge it's easy to do.
Now it's time to rest, watch some TV and get ready to go for a ride tomorrow. Nothing like today more than likely, if so then that's an added bonus. If not, a solid ride is a solid ride. I'm happy!
Photo: One of the newest pieces of artwork that Zoey made at school/daycare in her new class. It's awesome how much art they do! We are going to need a shed to store it all.
