Worked Too Late

So yesterday I ended up staying at work until nearly 10:00 PM working on some things that I have been trying to get finished for probably well over a month. I am happy to report that a lot of it is now complete and I feel a lot better about it. There is still a lot to do but at least I'm making a dent in it.

This is exactly what happens when Cicely is not here to force me to leave to go home at a decent time. I end up staying at work way too late which in turn makes me get home even later, obviously.

You have to realize that once I leave work it's still 40 minutes to get home. The shxtty part about that is that it makes it as though I did not see Zoey all day. Although on the bright side I did hear she was doing much better before leaving work last night which made me feel much better on the way home, knowing I could not give her kisses and squeezes.

Cicely did say though, her temperature was still up on the high side so there is a chance that she may have to stay home again tomorrow or take Zoey to the doctor to verify things are okay and the temperatures are caused by the teething and the vaccines, not something else.

Doctor To Be Safe

So this morning when I woke up Zoey to get her breakfast and start to get ready for the day the first thing that I did was grab the temporal thermometer to see what kind of temperature she was running today. I was hoping that would be 98 point something so that way she could go to school but more importantly so that I knew she was feeling better.

A push of a button and the slide of the thermometer from the middle of her for head down her hairline stopping at your ear with beeps along the way it revealed the number for the morning. She was just over 100°, reading a temperature of 100.3°, darn it!

Yesterday when we called her pediatrician they told us that we needed to come in if the temperature did not break and continued to go up and down from normal. Cicely called this morning and made an appointment for 9:45 to have her checked out and make sure nothing else was going on and she's simply fighting a slight cold along with the annoyance of new teeth pushing through and of course those damn vaccines.

Once out of the doctor Cicely called me, I was on the way to work and running late, she said that Zoey was fine, nothing to worry about. Her temperature is almost certainly up and down because of all the things we were thinking and should continue to improve. If for some reason it does not by Friday then we need to take her back in and have another look. If nothing else, to again be on the safe side that it's not something else or could turn into something else.

Poor kiddo! I really hope she starts feeling better today and is able to get back to normal. I am sure she is having fun at home with mama, though I know she likes going to school and playing, doing crafts and so on. Hopefully soon she will be back at it!

Outta News For Now

That is about all of the news that I have for today. Just another day at the game studio, trying to get my head above water to take a few breaths of fresh air before the next round of newness and/or changes come starting April 7th when my companies merger is final.

Rumor, well factual actually not a rumor as it came from the horses mouth at our last company town hall, there will be no immediate changes or disruptions in 2015. So that begs the question as to what exactly happens after that then?

From what I can tell, nothing really changes in the game studios. We have a good thing going so why mess with it. I for one hope this is the way it will go down. If not, at least then we have a first hand experience as to the characteristics, honesty and related with the new leaders of the corporation.
