Today was supposed to be Zoey's one year check-up and to get her shots, boosters and related. I completely forgot that they called Cicely on Tuesday and changed the date to the 17th for the appointment. Today I have been moving things around on my calendar as well as preparing this week working and moving around my schedule for nothing.
Oh well, on the bright-side this means that she does not have to get any shots, pokes or prods today which makes me feel really good. I hate to see it when she gets her shots in her leg because she doesn't understand what is going on and it breaks my heart. She looks up at me as I hold her still with a look of "what are they doing to me and why does it hurt and you are not stopping them papa?".
Everything is simply delayed now and its inevitable that it will have to be done soon so we only get to put it off to the side for a short time. Maybe we will have the day off that time and we can go for ice cream or something afterwards as a treat for her doing awesome. That's if she is up to it, sometimes after shots she is either worn out and tired or on the flip side super irritable and sore.
I have a new trainer showing up today or tomorrow that I am going to use to set up my new bike. I am done going to the bike shop that I bought it from other than to get my helmet once they have it in stock. They were supposed to this week but I have not heard a damn thing from them so Who the hell knows what is going on.
They seem to be dropping the ball a lot lately and it's super annoying. Possibly even to the point that they let their fucking apprentice or part-time 'kids' work on my bikes. To me this is complete bullshxt and not something I will stand for. At the same time, if they are actually the ones working on the bikes I take in, then they need to take a step back and reevaluate things.
The quality is totally not there and that is not a good trait in my book. Especially after I have spent well over $17,000 with them in just under two years.
You would think for spending that kind of cash they would have a little better customer service and so on but it seems things are never done quite right and I do get pissed off with regards to that lack of attention to detail. They are a decent shop and they do try their best to get the quality parts and equipment that I want.
At the same time, there is still hesitation at times or lack of knowledge and that bothers me. If they work on these things day in and day out I would expect them to know more than I do. Unfortunately this is not always the case and I have to step in and do things on my own at home or have other shops take care of them.
For example next week I am taking my brand new bike into the shop that is closer to work so I can have them basically tear it down and rebuild the entire thing. I do trust to a point what was done with my bike, at the same time with it being nearly $10,000 after all the extra's I have added as well as things that are still not in yet, I don't want to fuck around with something not being 100% correct and exactly to the specs that I want it to be.
Whats more is that I did find out in a round about way that they took my bike on a few joy rides, each of them did at some point I believe, doing some bunny hops on and off curbs and so on. I was never told that this was legit, but I was never told that it was not. I mean lemme back up, I was told that it was legit by the one guy there although I never confirmed it with the guy that rode the bike.
I have no issues with them doing a test ride or related but give me a fucking break. You don't do that with someones bike. Not to mention something so expensive. Its a pure carbon fiber bike and if there were any stresses put on it and so on that may not show up until later that is bullshxt to say the least.
Plus when I take my other bike in to have it worked on, the seat is always fucked up afterwards (maybe this is common with shops I dunno) so it requires me to adjust and tweak it. The seat is the most important damn thing next to many other adjustments and to just assume I wont notice or I can set it back to where it was is again, bullshxt.
So in short, once I get my new helmet from them, if I ever get the call that it's in stock, I think that will be my last dealings with them. It's been real, so long and thanks for the fish!

Otherwise
Anyway other
than that it's pretty much a typical Friday. Lots of things to try to
get done before the end of the day today so it does not hunt me come
Monday. It's supposed to be a really nice weekend as well which means I
should be able to get some good cycling in.
Photo: Some more awesome artwork that my little Zoey did at daycare in her new class. I hope she is as talented as her mom!
