500 Bitches!

Ok so first things first as you can tell from the title of today's post I am pretty dam proud and excited that today marks my 500th consecutive post here on Blogger, woot! I will be the first to admit that it is not as easy as one would think it is to write everyday. It can actually be one of the harder things to do because at times there are weeks that are fairly vanilla and seem just like the day or week before. To write something worth the time to type it can be difficult.

My original intent was not to specifically write everyday but maybe only add a paragraph or 2 along with a photo at the very least and call that a daily entry. There have been a few like that, certainly not more than you can count on one hand for that matter. It's kinda funny how once you get going you find 4 or 10 things to rabble about, at least I do. Sure they are not "edge of your seat" or such crazy good stories that they bring you to tears or uncontrollable laughter and I am ok with that. These entries are for me, my family and close friends and really beyond that it's all fluff.

With that; HAPPY 500th Consecutive Blogger Entry to me! Now on with today's rabble.

Yawn

So I was up early today because the fuzzy kid, Oggy, decided that 6 AM was going to be the new 7 AM and time for breakfast. He made sure that I was aware of the time change by pawing at me, licking my face, eyes, ears, cheek or what ever he could reach. At times it was even a combination of all of his methods to get me to wake up.

I fought it for maybe 20 minutes and decided I would get up and go to the bathroom and see if maybe Oggy would tuck back in with Cicely and I could lay back down for another hour or so. Well as luck or lack there-of would have it, I was not able to lay back down. I had the burst of energy to pay some bills, check my email and have a bowl of cereal.

Once I was ready and doing so on my terms of course I decided that it was time to feed the fuzzy kid. I made him wait a little bit because I did not want him to think that all of his licking and pawing at me was an effective way to get me up early. It appears that it may have been but since he cant read let's just keep that tidbit between us.

Cloudy

Today the rain has not started again as I write this, but there are a lot of heavy gray clouds in the sky waiting to dump on us. It rained most of the night last night and through the night while we slept. We need the rain big time, and the snow up in the mountains so it's still a welcomed event.

In California they need the rain really bad as well. They are in a situation of drought this coming summer if the rain does not come. Well according to the news, the latest storm has helped tremendously but will not solve the drought problem yet. The bigger issue is that it has been so dry and the rain came all at once so they are now fighting mud slides and that sort of "fun".

Tax Man

Today I plan to finally sit down and work on our income taxes for the 2013 year. Normally I have them done by this time of the year, March, but this year I have been putting it off for multiple reason. First I have to figure out how in the hell I am going to work through Cicely's business taxes, then I have a bunch of stocks that we both sold, moved around and so on that may or may-not require us to pay anything extra for the capital gains. In theory they should be nearly a 1 to 1 because they were sold as long term investments and ones that were sold at a loss.

I guess we will see and I should probably just hunker down and get through it and quit putting it off. I guess I just don't want to find out that I will owe a bunch of money or something. Who knows, maybe I will get lucky and we will get a nice chunk of change back this year. Last year we hardly got anything back and it sucked. I am hoping that we get a decent refund in 2015 when we do our 2014 taxes because we will be able to write off baby at that time.

Anymore this is little to no benefit of getting married, having kids, buying a home or rental properties as far as the tax obligations are concerned and it sucks. My entire life from family and friends as well as school I am told that starting a family, buying a home and all of the related is what is important to save money and be able to put away that little extra for retirement or what ever. That is unfortunately not the case any longer.

Same goes with insurance for cars. Even though I buy a new car every 3 years I still back out the ass for insurance. I have a spotless record and pay all of my premiums on time yet my rates climb and have never improved. My bet is because of the lack of good drivers and responsible people out there. They companies nickle and dime those of us that pay so they can make up for the people that are irresponsible and don't. Bullshxt when you think about it and not the way it should go. You should not be penalized for doing the right thing.

Alright

With that rant I think I will end this post for the day. I want to get busy on the taxes as soon as I download the software and get it installed. Plus as mentioned yesterday, my dad and Cyndi are supposed to be coming by today to drop off some more items for baby. I am hoping that they are able to earlier than later because I have a 15% discount that I have to use before the end of today at the baby store otherwise it will expire. We have a good deal of stuff we still want and need to get and the discount would be helpful to save a few bucks.

Anyhow, this time for real it's time to close Blogger and get onto other things otherwise before I know it my Saturday will be over and we will be full force into the to-dos of Sunday and finally preparing for another work week. Speaking of which, this one should not be too bad, I don't have a ton of extra curricular stuff going on which will be nice. The week after though it will be a different story, especially if baby decides to come. That particular week I have school 4 out of the 5 days and am only in the office 1 day so I need to prepare for that.

Ok, ok, closing my browser as soon as I hit save and then "publish" so I can get onto other things as I said I would a paragraph ago. It's just difficult, I get on a topic and wham, out spits another paragraph without even realizing it! Have a great Saturday!

Photo: It figures that it does not look that bad in the photo from yesterday's commute. It was raining hard and there was so much mist from cars it was difficult to see very far ahead. Strange how the camera cleared things up!
