Baby Doctor; Weekly #2

Yep, I am up bright and early this morning and according to the calendar it's time for another baby doctor appointment. Now that we are in the weekly appointments it sure seems like they're coming around twice as fast. Obviously they are twice as fast as they were before because they were every two weeks, LOL. But I think you know what I mean.

Anyway with everything getting to be so close and compacted it's really becoming apparent that this parenthood thing will happen sooner than later. According to the actual duration of pregnancy we only have just over two weeks left before baby should be here.

I have to say that it has went by extremely fast. I think Cicely would tell you the exact opposite because she has been dealing with heartburn, bloating, swollen feet and ankles and all of the other stuff pregnant women go through.

We have a friend at work, Ashley, that is right along the same timeline as we are, she is actually due a week sooner. So it has been the running joke that she will have her baby after us and she does not like that. She is ready to be done already as well.

Baby Doctor

So the baby doctor appointment was quick today. We showed up, checked in and were called to go to the smaller waiting room within 5 minutes or so max. Once in the room we found out that we were not going to be able to see the doctor today because she had some things come up during her rounds but we could wait a little longer if we chose to, just in case she popped back into the office sooner.

We chose to go with the practitioner because Cicely feels fine with her as do I and we see her all of the time anyhow. I am happy to report that everything checked out wonderfully and baby is sitting pretty low which is a good thing. There is no measurable dilation yet which is not a good or bad thing, but just how her body handles it. Some women, like our friend, is already dilated to near the 1/2 way point of what they would consider labor in some cases.

More of the wait and see for now. Cicely has a feeling that baby is going to show up right around her actual due date of the 16th of March rather than earlier like I keep thinking is going to happen. It's out of our hands of course, so the day-to-day wait begins.

Weather

What is a post without mentioning the weather - at least when it's a little exciting anyway. Today it's supposed to be changing negatively once again. It looks gloomy and gray outside and as though something is rolling into the valley. My guess would be that it won't be nothing more than rain down here in the valley and snow in the mountains. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

**Update: So by the time we were headed to the baby doctor appointment it was raining decent and the wind was picking up. Once we were done with the appointment and heading to work the rain was turning to snow in some areas and was coming down even harder.

Once at work, the sun was starting to come out and the rain had pretty much stopped for the time being. I am updating this entry just after noon and the weather is still looking decent out. There are still cars driving around with 6 or more inches of snow built up on them but I think it will melt soon because the storm is done, at least for the time being.

Gym

So this has been the crappiest week of all weeks and as long as I can remember with regards to working out at the gym. Between going to school and having intense days at the studio I have not had time to make it down to the gym. I have done my cardiovascular exercises and strength training at home after work but it's not the same experience for me. Today I plan to do my damnedest to get down there so that I'll at lease get one solid day in at vs. my home gym. The crappy part is that it's Friday which is usually my float day to go to the gym - I guess that will not be the case this week.

As mentioned, thankfully I have a treadmill and equipment at home so I can take care of it if I miss at work. The problem is it's never quite as satisfying. It also does not do as much as it does when taking a break from work to do cardiovascular and/or strength training. When I do it mid-day it's a double bonus because of the clearing the mind, body and soul to prepare for the second half of the day.

Otherwise

I think that is all I have to rabble about today. It's finally Friday, the end of the workweek for us, so we plan to enjoy it and roll into the weekend as smooth as we can. We wont have too many weekends left that are just for us, doing whatever we want so we need to enjoy them while we can.

Cicely has a bunch of stuff coming up tonight for some designers that want to use her jewelry in upcoming shows as well as photographers that would like some for their models photo sessions. So she will be meeting them after work for brainstorming and possibly dinner. Looks like it will be a boys night for Oggy and I, that is always a lot of fun!

Tomorrow my pops and step-mom Cyndi are supposed to come by to give us a few more items for baby that they were unable to bring to the baby shower. Well, not unable but they figured it would be bad to bring a truckload of stuff if others only brought the usual 1 or 2 things to give. We honestly are not looking for quantity and cant believe how much we are getting already. No matter, it will be fun as usual to see what else Zoey is getting to help us welcome her into this crazy world.

As it sits now we are completely blown away, grateful and thankful for everything everyone has done. We did not expect to be given so much great stuff to help us out. Thank you everyone!
