I am probably one of the few that does not really care one way or the other with regards to today's outcome. I will be at home either working on things or watching some other TV shows or possibly some training and videos to learn some new things.
I have never been much of a football fan even when I tried hard to get into it, it just could not hold my attention. Although I guess that is the way that it is for those of you that prefer football over any sort of auto racing.
Everyone looks at NASCAR for example and assumes that it's just a bunch of guys going in a circle, well it's an oval actually and sometimes it is a tri-oval track. There is so much more involved but again if you don't understand the sport it doesn't mean anything to you and does not hold your attention. That is how I am with football. I understand it, just don't care for it.

Corner Shelf
So last night I decided to hang up this corner shelf that I have to putting off for many years. Cicely and I could never find a place that we really wanted it to go in her studio - now the baby room.
Well last night something must have finally struck a nerve when we saw it sitting there in the closet so we grabbed a bunch of the necessary tools, made a bunch of markings on the wall making sure things were level and at the height we wanted and then finally, after many years of procrastination we hung it up.
It's funny when you finally take on a task like this, one you have been putting off for a long time that is. Finally one day you do it in almost no time at all and realize how nice the project is once it's finished. Then just like we did you sit back and wonder why we did not get it done sooner.
Oh well no worrying about the past now that it's done and looks really good. Between the both of us getting and handing tools to one another, drilling holes, screwing in attachments and braces and so on it only took about 20 to 30 minutes to complete.
Once we were finished and I was putting away the final few tools out in the garage Cicely grabbed a really cute stuffed doll that someone gave us I think for baby as well as this cute polka-dot piggy bank that I picked out for Zoey the last time we were at Babies 'R Us. She put them both up on the shelf just the perfect way. It looks really cute and helps to finish off the corner of the room.
Outback
Once we were finished putting the shelf up and all of the tools were put away and our mess was cleaned up Cicely then took some of the glue stick that I purchased last week and continued to re-stick up all of the vinyl decals on the wall above the crib. They seem to be holding great now and I think it was an awesome solution if I don't say so myself. Now let's just hope that it's not a total nightmare to take them down when the day comes that Zoey hates the color or style of her room and wants something more mature or different.
Those two projects were now both done and done fairly quickly at that. Now both Cicely and I were starving for some dinner but it was already 8:30 PM at night. I asked her, "what do you want for dinner", without hesitation she said "Outback Steakhouse"! Okay, Outback Steakhouse it is. It was actually a great choice and sounded really good to me. Not to mention the fact that we both love the bread as well as the food and we have not eaten there in probably 6 months at least.
Once there we both ordered iced tea and then our entrées. I had a nice rib-eye steak and lobster tail while Cicely enjoyed a big pile of crab legs and a hamburger. All in all it was a great meal and a great choice by her. We still have some left over for today which is always awesome.
To top it off our waiter, TreyVon, was really good and totally on top of it which I can always appreciate. I think I get that from both my parents and grandparents because they were always critical of the service you received at a restaurant. Anymore it seems like the service just is not that good for the price you pay for food and that can really ruin a nice night out with your beautiful wife.
For the most part we know the places we like to go though and generally service is pretty damn good. Not to mention that sometimes when you go to restaurants later in the evening the service can be so-so because everyone is tired and wants to get the hell out of work.
Well I am stoked to report that this was not the case last night. Our waiter was awesome and the pace that he brought out everything from soups, breads, drinks and finally our entrées was perfectly timed. So I felt that the right thing to do was what I usually do when the bill comes - leave him with a generous tip for his great service, friendliness, and the overall nice experience we had while there. What did I leave you ask? Well not that it really matters to anyone else because some will think it's just too much, but I don't care and would disagree.
So all said and done for last nights bill I left him a $25 tip for only a $61 bill. I thought that was completely fair and I hope it made his night. Those guys and gals run there asses off for everyone and I think some people just don't appreciate respect a good waiter or waitress enough. That is quite possibly white service has went down a bit, I don't know that for a fact of course, but you never know.
Anyway it was a great night out having dinner with my beautiful wife as well as my soon-to-be-born baby girl. I look forward to more dinners out like that once baby is born. It's kind of funny because there was a couple a few booths down from us that had there kiddo in a highchair and it made us both think, "what's it going to be like for us when the day comes"? In the past we never would have even thought about that. Heck even now when I see someone pushing a stroller or anything of the sort I immediately know what brand it is, how good it is and so on.
It's crazy how much a dog, or a kid can change your outlook on life. What's even funnier than that is the fact that we have no idea of the changes to come.
Touchdown
Well with that I think I'm going to run the ball over the line and make the winning touchdown for the game, LOL! Yeah I have no real idea what the fuck I am talking about even though I do. It's just my little football smirk for the day to say that I am done with my entry for today.
If you are at home watching the big game hopefully you have a good day. Whether your team is winning or losing do one thing and do it well. What am I referring to you ask? I am referring to being a good person, don't be an asshole to your wife, kids, family and extended family, friends and so on over a football game. You hear far too many stories about this happening on game day. It's just a game people, enjoy it for what it is and leave it at that. Have a great Sunday!
Photo: Dinner out with my amazing wife! Sorry you are stuck with a photo of the bill. When the food came we were both so hungry I did not even think to snap a picture of it. Oh well, you will have to take my word as to how awesome it was!
