It ended up getting warm enough yesterday that every flake of snow that had fallen melted by the end of the day when we got home from work. Our driveway, lawn (even in the shady areas) and cars were as dry as though it did not snow a single flake the night before.
Yea, while it was really nice to get it all done yesterday morning and get in the little extra workout it was all for nothing in the end. I guess that happens sometimes and is just part of it. I would have much rather sat inside and had coffee and surfed the net before work though.
Today it is just really windy out and no new snow has fallen so far. The weather guessers say that there will be more snow coming but that it should stay up in the mountains and we will see nothing more than wind or rain down here. Guess we will see. I hope it's the case though to be honest because Cicely has to work tomorrow and we are turning in her VW Beetle so I don't want her to have to drive in the snow. It freaks me out enough as it is with her driving on normal days while pregnant.
Wind
The wind is the most annoying because not only do I hate wind with a passion I keep waiting for it to finish blowing the fence down on my side yard. The neighbor has placed a heavy ass bar on there to hold it up. Apparently he has never taken any classes relating to mass, physics and so on. Basically it's the equivalent of using a steel bar to hold up a toothpick. In the long run it has done nothing more than fuck the fence up that much more.
He said he would fix it but that was over 2 years ago and we are tired of waiting on him. We plan to get it fixed and just hand them their half of the bill. If the fence falls it will screw up my shed wall and that will really piss me off. Sure I could brace it on our side like I have in the past but essentially all I am doing is bracing his steel bar!
Anyway enough about that, it gets me fired up every time I see the fence, hear the wind or talk about the problem. The worst part is that because he has put it off it will not be 2 to 3 times as much to fix it. It has weakened several of the other posts and the fence guys will want to replace them so it does not affect their work.
Photo: The fence I have been whining about today. Its a little difficult to tell from the photo how twisted and ready to fall it actually is - total bullshxt! I would have had this thing fixed ASAP 2 or 3 years ago - should have just taken care of it. Worry I wont get my half of the $$ back though.
