There is obviously still a lot that I need to learn and have setup to fully function on my new role. This all takes time so I am reminding myself of that and taking it day by day the best that I can.
300 Eyes Recap
So as I updated yesterday, my part of the leadership presentation went fairly well yesterday I think. I was scheduled to go up and talk about 3/4 the way through the all-hands which was probably the most nerve racking part for me. Those that spoke to their slides before me were really good at it and have done it many times before. This made it a bit of a hard act to follow for me but also gave me the confidence to say to myself "I got this!".
Based on the decent amount of laughter to my jokes and clapping that followed my ideas and goals I think it went over decent. Most importantly I hope I was able to get my point across and help other groups to better understand the very important role of my team.
Today
On the menu for today are plans for Cicely and I to take Oggy to the sparks Marina and let him finally get out and do a lap around it. We have not been able to take him on many walks this year like we usually do and it really sucks. He needs the stimulation and change in scenery just as much as we do. Hopefully it will work out and we can get over there.
We also plan to work some more in the nursery because the cool decals we put on the wall do not adhere to a slightly textured wall very well at all. We are going to try and use a little dab of the Elmer's glue stick and see if that does the trick. Sure they will be a little harder to remove later on but so long as they don't tear the paper backing on the drywall it's no big deal. At that stage we would be painting the room and redecorating anyhow.
Photo: Crazy nice day again. On our way to take Oggy around the Sparks Marina as we planned to!
