Pediatrician & My Grill

Today is the day for me to get to the dentist for a cleaning and grill shining. The first part of the week was all for the girls getting their checkups and next week was supposed to be my week for that sort of thing but I changed the appointments so I could get it out of the way before going back to work.

Pediatrician

Well today we have to take baby back to the pediatricians office so Zoey can get a quick check-up for her poo duties. She has been having a hard time going poo and has been needing to strain so hard that it has been making her cry and turn bright red, more than is normal.

Now normally they do strain, make crazy faces and all of that sort of thing but she is straining way to hard and having a hard time getting it all out. We are thinking it's hard for her to go and she is more constipated than she should be. We changed her formula that we are substituting between breastfeeding and we are pretty sure that is causing it.

So to be on the safe-side of things we will go back to the doctor and make sure that there is nothing we can give her to help it or if we need to just thin out the formula a little bit more or who knows what. Yea it's all part of it, but we want to be sure of course so a quick doctor visit is the easiest way to reassure us.

Cubed

Today there was a lot of bad news around the studio and company in general. We are cutting our workforce by 7% which equates to 250-275 employees company wide. Thankfully not just from our location but from all of our locations domestically and internationally.

I feel really bad for all of those that are being let go and wish them the best in their future endeavors. Many have been with the company for 5, 10, 15+ years. Who knows, maybe some of them will return to work with us once again in the future should the markets change and we require addition developers.

Never a fun time in business nor something anyone wants to take part it but can be a necessary evil to get things back on track and make the shareholders happy otherwise things will get even worse. Hopefully this will be the last one for many years. I have had more than enough of these in years past as things have changed. Gotta take the good with the bad unfortunately.

Otherwise

Business as usual and just getting through the week and enjoying the time away from work with the family and learning more and more everyday about this being a dad thing. It's definitely a lot of fun and a huge learning experience that I am enjoying every minute of.
