Baby Doctor; Weekly #3

Wind wind friggin' was all that I could hear the entire night. Slamming against the house and rattling the windows, making trees sway and bend over towards the ground all the while sounding like it's shaking the house and removing shingles from the roof. For now, so long are the days that were warm and seemed like summer just 2 days ago. Let's hope spring pops back into the air and we get some more nice weather. At the very least no more wind!

I think there's another storm rolling in based in the wind and color of the sky, that's usually mother natures M.O. in our valley. As much as I hate to admit it, it's just as the weather guessers predicted and looking as though they may potentially have guessed correctly one more time this year.

My only wish is that there was a way for the weather to roll in without the wind blowing like crazy. I suppose I should be thankful that we do get a heads-up at least that "somethings" coming our way.

Anyone that knows me understands how much I hate the wind with a passion!

Oh well enough of me whining about wind for one day it's time to put on my big boy pants and just deal with it. Just like everything else it to will pass and nicer days will be ahead I will just enjoy today for what it is.

Baby / Momma Doctor

Well if everything goes as planned today is our second to last baby doctor visit. Cicely has been feeling the pains of labor more and more although still a medium on her scale of pain.

I have a really weird feeling that this weekend is when baby is going to show up. That is entirely up to baby of course but that is my prediction.

I could be way off and we will know more after the appointment this morning. The doctor will check and see if Cicely has any dilation or not, if she does not, then that means she is probably right on schedule and won't deliver until closer to March 16. Either way that is fine, we don't mind letting baby cook in the oven just a little longer. At the same time though, we are ready for her to be here.

I know Cicely is ready mostly because she does not feel 100%. Her feet and legs have still been swollen and today her back hurts a little. Thankfully it's her upper back and shoulder blades which means she probably slept on it weird.

Initially I was afraid it would be her lower back which can mean signs that the baby is sitting weird and pushing on her lower back and spine. That is definitely something I don't want her to deal with so good thing the pain is in another location of her back.

**Update: Everything went great at the baby doctor this morning. Cicely is still not dilated at all and that is still totally normal and OK. Because she is still getting swollen throughout the day the doctor is having her do some blood work and a not-so-fun urine collection for 24 hours. She will then drop off the jug in the morning to the office to have it checked out.

Everything is a-OK, but they found a little additional protein in her sample this morning so they want to always be on the safe side of things. That is totally fine with the 3 of us!

Because we still have one appointment left and I am in school that day it will be the only one that I have missed so far and it sucks. I did not want to miss any of her appointments but there is nothing I can do. Maybe we will have baby show up before then and it will be a moot point. Kinda scary and exciting thinking that baby is potentially only a week away or so. Our lives will be so much different in so many ways that we can't even begin to imagine.

Cubed

It's a business as usual day otherwise and pushing us closer to weeks end. Not too many meetings today but I do have one get-together with both studios to welcome our newest members to the team and celebrate recent birthdays for February and March. Before that it's the gym and that is the extent of the excitement for one day. I am more than happy to accept it and use it as a day to catch up on random paperwork that has fallen to the way-side.

Photo: I asked Cicely to take a random photo for me today, this was what she took. Does not look as crappy outside as it is. Anyway, this is just off the highway not too far from home. Love the mountains and could not imagine living somewhere flat again.
