Cizzle Rest Day

So last night was one heck of a long night and probably only a very small example of what's to come when baby finally arrives. From what I have heard from friends and family, most of the time they are up about every 2 hours looking to eat, have a diaper change and get a clean set of clothes put on.

Does not sound like that big of a deal until you are in the middle of it I'm sure. I mean there is something about not getting a solid 6-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep that can make you dreary all the next day no matter how solid you slept during the little bursts.

Not 100%

Anyway, Cicely was not feeling very good last night when we left work for many reasons. First she was exhausted and unable to keep her eyes open about 1/2 hour before we were planning to leave. She decided to rest her head and eyes while sitting in her chair. This was a mistake, she dozed off for 20 minutes or so and woke with a gnarly kink in her shoulders that is still hurting today.

Next she was getting increased indigestion and swelling by the time we got home. I gave her a couple TUMS for the indigestion because she did not want to take a Zantac so late in the day. Next I had her lay down with her feet elevated to help reduce the swelling and pain in her feet. I rubbed them for about 15 minutes which seemed to relax her if nothing else so that was good.

She had no appetite but I made her something to eat anyway just in case she wanted to nibble while we watched TV. She eventually did and started feeling a little better for 1/2 hour or so.

Unfortunately the "feeling better" was short lived because she started getting some contractions that were more medium instead of the mild ones she has been getting. They were up much higher on her belly as well so she had to work through a brand new type of pain.

Last because of all of this going on, not being able to eat very much, getting a headache from the backache she was now feeling like it was about time to puke. Ahh poor thing, and nothing I can do but comfort her. I did and eventually the sensation went away and I declared it to officially be bedtime!

We went to bed but she was up often because of all of the previously mentioned stuff and because Oggy now decided it was a good idea for him to start having an upset stomach. That became my next project for an hour and a half until he started feeling better.

Now here I am tired and off to work while both Oggy and Cicely stay home to try and rest up and feel better soon. I could say that it really sucks to be the only one not staying home in bed but in reality it felt good to be able to help them both so much. Believe it or not they both would have and have done the same for me.

So I am off to work with a little spring in my step. There is no reason to be down, they will feel better and while they work on that I plan to make the best of the day while my loved ones rest.
