More Babies Born

March has been the month of new babies - for us, family and friends as well. Several people at work have had kids this month and last month, there is at least one set of twins that are due in May and my step-cousin and his wife just had their baby this morning.

My step-cousins new additions name is Warner and he was born at 11:15 this morning. He was a big boy at 8.8 lbs and 21 1/2" long! Babies mom is doing great after the cesarean and babies daddy is proud as to be expected. All of the family that is in that area has stopped by to say hi and welcome baby into the world as well. Pictures and posts are flying like wildfire on Facebook as well.

What a great month for growing families! Everyone seems to be adding little girls to the world so with the addition of Warner it means there is now the addition of another boy.

Baby Feeding

So unfortunately we have had to use some formula the past couple feedings. Cicely seems to not be producing enough milk at the moment and baby has not been as satisfied as we would like her to be after her feedings. We are looking for 6-8 diapers a day and we were getting about 1/2 that many.

Not to mention from trying so hard Cicely has been having her chest get very sore and raw, bleeding and cracked as well. Not a fun thing to experience by any means so not only does it make baby cranky it makes momma cranky as well. As much as Cizzle would not admit it, I know it makes her very sad too because she has planned to breastfeed since day 1.

No biggie though, it does not mean that she can still feed baby breast milk. We just have to get her to check out some of the breastfeeding support groups and talk to the pediatrician as well to see if she feels we are doing the right thing mixing formula for the time being.

On the plus-side we are using the top of the line formula and although it is about 2 or 3 times more expensive than the stuff that pretty much everyone uses it will be well worth it if she is unable to go the breast milk route. Maybe we can get rid of our pumps if we have to, yes we have 2 of them. One that we got from insurance and one that we bought. The one we bought was something like $300 and the one we got from insurance was free, but still a $200 or so pump. We just heard that it was crap and had no suction so rather than wait and find out we decided to buy a top of the line one.

Dinner

Last night we had a Dominican style dinner that Cicely's mom made for us. It was really good and actually took quite a while to prepare. We had everything from this really thin sliced steak that was seasoned and in this thick dark sauce, black beans that were in an onion and garlic sauce and garnished with green olives. White rice to sit underneath of it all and to help soak up the juices that you did not want to escape your taste buds.

For roughage we had a salad that consisted of avocado, sliced radish and sliced cucumber. All with extra virgin olive oil drizzled on top and fresh squeezed lemon juice as well to not only add flavor but to help everything from browning from the air.

Chill Day

Today the plan is to get Cicely to get some much needed rest and let baby get some sleep as well. We need to possibly give baby her first little sponge bath today and she is not going to be very happy about that I can almost guarantee you. She does not like being naked when we change her diaper and fusses the entire time until she starts to get her new diaper cinched back up and then piece-by-piece covered back up and swaddled with blankets and clothes like a little burrito.

Cubed

Tonight I need to run down to the south side of town and go into work for a couple of hours. I am not really looking forward to doing so but need to get a few things out of the way before everyone starts freaking out and my game gets behind schedule for it's release date. Most of the changes and updates are not what I would consider "critical fixes" but they still need to be in the game as soon as possible so they can be tested and verified.

I also need to go in and approve time for my team. Many of the team had some issues when entering time the previous pay period because we had some major changes with our studio splitting into 2 studios. This forced us to have to created 2 sections in the time database. One for my studio and one for the north studio as well as unique overhead numbers and related.

Then after I verify all of the time, take the time to email everyone and let them know what corrections need to be made we are stuck in the mud until nearly end of the day on Tuesday before they can actually update anything. Our system locks down while payroll is processing so you are stuck not being able to do anything during that time. It's a total pain in the butt, but just how it is.

I guess the point is; if there are any mistakes or updates needed for time entry that was done up to the Friday prior to payroll I am unable to get it fixed by my team and then back into the system until best case late afternoon Tuesdays but usual Wednesday mornings. Because I was out of the office last week I was unable to do it either time.

Good 'Nuff

I think that will do it for today. I want to rest up as well as get a few things taken care of while I can. I signed up for another class that I am going to tomorrow and then I have one that I will be going to the end of next week. I would like to have stayed home with my girls and fuzzy kid but I think that it's in my best interest to get as many classes as I can out of the way while the getting is good.

I am probably over doing it by trying to accomplish 2 certifications at the same time but I figure what the heck. I am in the middle of it all right now so I should just take care of it while I am in the zone. It's really easy to not want to go and just go back to life as it was before. In the long run it will be worth it, I am learning a lot and for the $5000 or so I will have invested as well as the time away from work I think it will be well spent.

Anyway until tomorrow have a great day what ever it is that you will be doing. I plan to close my eyes when they get heavy and eat when my stomach gets noisy. Otherwise it will be a day of messing around, hanging out and possibly getting on the treadmill again to get some cardio done and then a little strength training - I just need to shake this dam headache and back / neck tension once and for all!
