No, seriously what the heck happened to October? I think that was the quickest I can ever remember a mint passing me by. Sitting thinking today that the holidays are quickly approaching, the birth of our daughter is around the corner and so on is just a little surreal to be honest. I look forward to all of it, but at the same time I did not expect it to be here already.
I guess the saying is true that if you don't keep your eye on time that it will quickly slip away from you. Sheesh, a little warning next time would be appreciated universe!
It's For Baby
So last night we needed to stop by Babies R Us to make a payment on Zoey's dresser for her bedroom. While there we remembered that we had a 20% coupon off our next purchase. How cool is that?
So we went ahead and looked at a few of the bigger ticket items that we are slowly but surely getting. One of which being the highchair. They ended up having one of the models in stock that we wanted so after verifying one more time that it was the one for us we went ahead and threw it in the cart.
We also decided to look at and the diaper trash can things that we have been wanting to get for her. As luck would have it they had the model on sale for $10 off that we wanted to get plus we get an additional 20% off with the coupon we have.
It is called the Tommee Tippee model and it seals the diapers 360° so there is no smell or anything. We considered a Diaper Genie, but after watching a ton of reviews I found that this model is the better choice for us.
All in all it feels really good to be able to get some more things purchased for her and we are filling up the garage quickly with her stuff. Now we just need to get her room cleared out the rest of the way so I can start building her crib and related.
I am really looking forward to seeing her room finished to make it all even that much more real. As of now I know Cicely is pregnant, and her belly is getting bigger, but it is still a bit surreal. You would probably only understand what I am talking about if you have been through it. Before we were pregnant I never would have understood it either.
Prints
Today I need to go down and get my fingerprints done for my gaming license renewal. We were going to do it on the way to work today but we are running a bit behind and with them laying off another 150 people I do not want to take the chance of looking like a slacker.
It is a super easy process of course, I have to do it for my other licenses as well so it's no big deal and I have nothing to hide LOL. The only tough part is that you have to come up with $125 of your own cash to pay for it and they reimburse you on the next pay cycle. That is fine, but being without $125 for a week and a half can probably hurt some people, we just plan for it.
No More Tricks
I think that will do it for today. The tricks and treats are all finished and all of the ghouls and goblins have put their costumes away for another year.
I should mention we had our annual Halloween costume contest at work and one of our friends, Amanda, ended up winning the contest and taking first place overall.
Her costume was awesome to say the least, she was Bob Ross - the painter. For anyone that does not know who that is he used to teach people how to oil paint on TV. He was very well-known for one thing specifically, and that was the fact that he would always be extremely expressive about items in the paintings.
For example his trees were always called "happy trees", his "friendly little fluffy clouds", and things of that nature. It was a great way to get people to think about how much pressure to use and paint etc. I am sure he taught a lot of people a new hobby and a way to relax while creating art that they could probably display.
Okay for real, enough out of me, have a great Friday and if you are hung over from a Halloween party last night go get some greasy food it helps!
Photo: OMG a really cool device if I don't say so myself. A make-your-own Twinkie maker, cool!
