Pinning

So the day started a little early and unplanned around 4 AM. Oggy must have eaten something that did not agree with him so he was up licking his belly and not feeling too good. Cicely went ahead and got up with him, which meant I would be up with in a few minutes as well. Within about an hour and a half he seem to be feeling a little better and by that time Cicely was so comfortable on the couch she just stayed there wrapped up with him in a blanket.

I on the other hand took the opportunity to head back to bed for about 45 minutes of sleep. Sleep, that is not what I would call it waking up every 10 minutes to the alarm clock buzzing in my ear but hey it was something.

Pinning

While up at 4 AM there is not a lot to do except surf the Internet a little bit and please some games on my iPad. For some strange reason I decided to get on Pinterest and look around. Pinterest has been something I have avoided for quite some time because I do not really need yet another thing to keep up on.

I will say that it's actually pretty cool. Not in the cool "blow my socks off" way but cool to the fact I find a lot, and I mean a lot, of stuff that I like to hang onto via bookmarks and related usually only in my browser.

Of course now I can simply pin them to boards and go back to them later. I know, I know, I am late to the party but that is okay I showed up!

Why did I managed to stay away for so long you ask? Mostly because I got tired of seeing all of the Pinterest posts on Facebook. I was under the impression it was linked and you were stuck doing one with the other. Luckily you are not.

Printer

So I did not mention it, or if I did not much. But last night I finally ordered Cicely and I a 3D printer to mess around with. It's the Printrbot Simple model. I went with the kit version so I could build it myself and know the I'm not sure and outs from the start. This printer is sold more as a hobbyist and weekend warrior printer vs a full on production model. The prints at high resolution are fairly slow but will be fun and work for our needs.

Our goal is to learn more about them, then if we find we need something more advance we can easily go that direction. On the other hand if we are full of frustration or don't use it much we are not out of pocket a ton of cash. The kit with an added 1kg of PLA was just under $350 shipped to my door nearly next day. There is a fully assembled version as well for an additional $100, but I wanted to build ours and I did not care to wait the 2 to 3 week lead time they require.

Should be fun to build and mess around with. I will post some photos of it once it arrives, is built and so on for my photo of the day on here.

Flush

With that I am going to flush and call it a complete post. Little tired today because of getting up with Oggy last night. It proves that it will be tough when baby is here waking up all hours of the night. Oh well it's all part of the experience right? Gotta enjoy the good with the bad and difficult times!

Photo: Cool new Makita bit set I picked up over the weekend. Not that I needed "another" bit driver set. I can validate my purchase by the way the magnet works and recesses the driver tip to reduce wobble etc., works wonderfully.
