4 Hundred Bitches!

So first things first. A big shout-out to myself! That's right me, myself and I because today marks my 400th consecutive entry into my daily rabble of pure miscellaneous words stung together into what I like to call "sentences". Sure, most of which are improperly formatted, run-on or full of typos because it simply takes too long to write daily entries much less proofread each and every one. So get off my lawn back mmm-k!

No matter and all else aside I am stoked to be able to say that I have made it this far without missing a single day. What is even crazier is that if I were still using my Day One application I would be nearing the 75% mark on my way to 1000! That is just crazy for me to think about.

Let's hope I can manage to keep this going for that long, if not longer. It's really not that hard it's just hard to have something to put down in writing that is worthwhile in some fashion.

I have found that day-to-day we do not realize how repetitive our days are. Those days turn into weeks, months and years and before you know it your time is up. I am not saying that writing daily has change my life and I live every second to the fullest because we all know that usually only sounds good in poems and quotes.

In the real world working full-time and then some, raising a family, taking care of parents and trying to have hobbies it gets very difficult to not fall into patterns. Really it's not a bad thing either so long as we recognize it and try to get outside that zone now and then.

Travel to another city, state, or country. Drive home a new way every day one week just something to break the cycle and you will be amazed what it can do for your outlook on things to come and life in general.

I have to remind myself of this stuff all the time just to make it happen. I have been fortunate enough to travel to other parts of the world and within the US but I want more. So in the meantime I try to break it up, make my own little vacations on the way to work, in the gym or whatever. Listen to music I normally would not. Say hi to someone at don't know at work mostly because I took a new route walking to the gym. We have over 3500 employees so it's always easy to meet a new one.

Anyway, I guess my dailies have helped to keep me in-check. Boring or not for anyone reading them they are meaningful to me. That 15 minutes of my day to "vacation" and regurgitate happenings onto digital paper feels pretty good even on the bad days.

So yea, happy 400th mental vacation to me and I look forward to the next 400 and beyond!

Photo: Awesome dinner Cicely made for us Tuesday night. Sweet & Sour boneless chicken with snow peas, carrots and a celery salad with some steamed rice. So friggin' good!

Then last night we had Seared Hake (fish) with warm lentils & Brussels sprouts all chopped & mixed. It too was amazing! Unfortunately I was too hungry and did not take a pic of it - boo!
