Another One Down

It's obviously Friday, the end of the work week for Cicely and I and I think that we are both ready for it to be over. For such a basic week compared to others it has been long and busy in a different way. We are off for 6 days around Thanksgiving which is awesome so I think we are anticipating that and having trouble focusing on work.

Then once Christmas and New Years is upon us we have 12 days off and only need to use 5 days or so of DTO. That is going to be awesome as well and I honestly can't wait. Hopefully the weather is decent and we can enjoy some of the time off if we don't want to be inside for 2 weeks straight.

Mom

So tomorrow we may make the trek again down to Carson City and visit mom for an hour or so. We are going to need to try to get up early this time because last weekend it pretty much blew away our entire day going down and back and visiting for an hour or two while she had her lunch.

We have not decided yet what our plans will be for Thanksgiving. We may go down and see mom in the morning for a couple hours and then come back home relax for a little while and then go to out to Cicely's parents for dinner. Doing so is going to make Thanksgiving a really long day with a lot of driving but we will see how it goes. It will be a little weird not going over to dads house for Thanksgiving since we do that almost every year but at the same time we rarely go over to Cicely's parents house for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners. Plus we still plan to go over to dad's house for Christmas dinner.

Dinner

So I am bummed to tell you that last night when we got home from work we decided to start making one of our meals from Blue Apron. We got the recipe out and started to open the chicken to prep it and it stunk to high heaven. It was not good at all and spoiled. We are not sure if it was not kept cold enough during shipping or something else. All we know is that it did not smell good. Cicely went down to the store to get something else for dinner and took the chicken to throw away there so it would not stink up our trashcan.

While she was there I had her ask the butcher if it's possible it was just the way it was packed or if it was almost certainly spoiled. He confirmed our thoughts that it was in fact spoiled and that he would not recommend eating it. Such a huge bummer but we don't want to contact them again since we already have once before. I don't want it to seem like we are crying wolf.

I think what we are going to do now is switch our weekly deliveries over to vegetarian. This way we have an awesome dinner that we can just add our own meat too. There may be some dishes we miss out on, but that is okay because it will still help us a lot with meal preparation and learning about new things to eat. At the same time we won't have to worry about getting or eating something that was not kept cold enough.

One of our friends and coworkers is doing this exact same thing and she has had great luck and has managed to create some pretty awesome meals. So I think we are going to do the same.

Period

Okay putting a period on the end of this post. It is Friday as mentioned and as you know if you are reading this today. So I want to get shxt done and get on with the weekend.

If it's a rainy couple of days like it was last night it will actually be kind of nice because it's easier to get stuff done inside when the weather is like that outside. That way there is no warm weather teasing you and tempting you to come outside and play.

I hope your week has been great. Mine has been just fine and we managed to do everything we wanted to do and get done. Time for a couple days of doing what ever we want as well as getting Zoey's room that much closer to being done and ready for her.
