As mentioned yesterday, the dealership was not able to fix the car or get the error code feedback from the on-board computer to figure out what the issue was. The funny thing, well more odd than funny, was that last night on the way home it seemed to feel okay. Like the turbocharger was kicking in but not quite as much, not sure.
I am just hopeful that they will be able to get it figured out today. With the weekend ahead of us and plans to do some driving around and possibly go down to Carson to see mom I would rather have my car back.
My biggest fear is that if they can't get it fixed that means we probably won't get it back until Friday which would really suck. I mean thankfully we have another car but we are trying to go easy on that one since we are turning it in because it will be at the mature date for its lease in about a month. We are good on miles but we just want to make sure, just in case. Then we can start the journey of getting Cicely a new car. While that can be fun, it's also really annoying.
Too Many Sales
I know it probably sounds crazy to say that there are "too many sales and deals" going on right now, but there really is. It seems everywhere I turn since about Halloween everything has been Black Friday this or Black Friday that. What's more is that so many retailers, stores and websites are doing early sales for pre-Black Friday bargains which increases the amount of advertising two-fold.
The worst part about all of this is that really most of the deals are not that great. I have been researching it and it turns out that many companies actually make product specifically for Black Friday. Meaning they may not be as high of quality as the same one they would have released on a non-Black Friday.
Sure there is nothing wrong with saving 30 or $40 on say a new shop vacuum. But when you have an issue and that vacuum is not there for you to sweep up water or some big spill because it was a cheaper version and the motor decided to go out. I will almost guarantee you that you are not going to care about that savings at that time.
But whatever and to each their own. If that is your thing to go out and get trampled to save $30 on some new toy, electronics, or whatever then go for it. I just get tired of all the hoopla over it all I guess. I mean Cicely's step-mom goes out at the wee hours of the morning for the sales and she does get some pretty awesome deals on quality items. But it's not easy that's for sure. I know it takes some serious dedication to make it happen when stores only have a small amount of the special offer items. And I don't think she would trample someone to save a few bucks!
Checkout
I think that will have to wrap it up for today. If I am able to get the car fixed and back to me today I will try to add what they were able to find out. I have a funny feeling that something is glitching when the weather drastically changes, when I don't let the car warm up for a second or something along those lines. Namely because of how decent it ran after work on the way home last night.
I hope they can figure it out and it's not some oddity. I don't want to waste the guys time and more importantly I want it fixed so I don't pull out one day only to find at that moment I have lost all of my get up and go!
**Update: Well as anticipated they were not able to find anything wrong with the car. The computer did not spit out any codes so all they could do was apply any updates that were available and go from there. I totally understand, but it's still a bit of a bummer.
Same thing goes for the rattle I had them look into - they can never seem to hear what we all hear. No biggie, it will just have to be something I learn to deal with until I get another car. It's really nothing, but one of those things that once you hear it, you cant un-hear it and so my OCD kicks into overdrive and I just wanna either fix it myself or drive the car off a cliff and get a new one. Yea, yea - keep your comments to yourself - don't you judge me! ha ha
