So far there has been a lot of laying around and chill-axing during our little 6 day vacation. Time now to get some stuff done to get one step closer to being ready for baby. We bought a bunch of stuff off of our registry the other night when we were at the baby store paying off the dresser.
Baby Room
So Cicely spent the majority of the day getting stuff out of what will be the baby room and either into storage containers for me to take out to the garage storage area, or moved into what is now going to be our combined studio and geek room. While still not done at the time that I am writing this entry, she is planning to have it cleared out before she goes to bed tonight. That would be awesome because then I could build the crib and start setting some stuff up in Zoey's room.
Yesterday we paid off Zoey's dresser that we had on layaway. We have not put anything on layaway in over 12 years if I had to guess. It was the perfect solution for us though because we were able to get the top of the line dresser that we wanted and not have to store it at the house until we were ready for it to be in the room. Now that it's paid off we will be getting a call that it's ready to be picked up in 10-14 days so that will be perfect. I just hope that the weather stays decent between now and then. According to the weather guessers it's supposed to start getting crappy the start of next week.
Fuzzy Walk
So FINALLY after about a month or more of not taking Oggy for his full walk were were able to. It felt really nice to do so and I know that he loved every second of it too. He was sniffing and marking like crazy - checking his "links" as we like to say, seeing who has visited his sites and those he needs to update because someone else has tried to take it over. For not going on one for so long he actually did really good and was not out of energy by the time we were 75% done like he is sometimes. I think it was because the weather was just hot enough to not be cold, but just cold enough to not be hot.
We use to take him, or at the very least I would take him, every day for the most part. This way he was able to get his regular exercise in at home when we played fetch or just messed around playing. Then after work he and I or he, I and Cicely would go and get him is 1 mile walk in - well just under a mile but all the side tracking and looping he does it is just about a mile +/- a tenth most times.
Crazy Ass Shoppers
So real fast I wanted to say that I cannot believe how fucking ignorant people are - I mean I can totally believe it because I see them nearly everyday out in the world, the things they write on the internet and so on.
I think the Black Friday brings that out in people even more. There were reports of more people this year getting trampled, killed, shot, hospitalized and so on just to save a few bucks on crap. Heck at one store it was the employees that were getting injured the most. There were videos of people fist fighting over electronics and so on.
I think it's so fucking stupid to act like that over crap you just "gotta have". There is so much more in the world that needs attention and I doubt any one of those people that camped out to save a few hundred bucks on a TV they did not need would do the same to help a hungry or needy family. Oh well, it will happen every year and people will keep on making the companies huge profits when they offer up a few goods at a reduced cost 1 day a year. Because of that I will end my rant now and save my breath and typing for something else.
Leftovers
I think that will have to do it for today's entry. I really have little to nothing to rabble about once again and that seems to be a trend lately. I think mostly because of the time of year. There is a lot going on and at the same time not a lot going on to write about if that makes any sense at all.
I admit that I am getting in the mode once again to get more ink done. I think it's something about this time of year that makes me want to do so. I don't know where on my body or what the ink would be yet, maybe something to honor the birth of my daughter? I have always wanted a tattoo of the symbol for Leo, my birth month, on my wrist or forearm but just have never done it. A cool sleeve would be nice as well but dam that is a lot of sitting to get it done and anywhere from 8 or 9 hundred dollars up into the thousands to have the work done and a lot of planning - maybe someday.
With that, it's time to get back at it and make some more progress. Really what I am saying is that it's time to get Cicely off of her iPad playing candy based games so she will get back in there and continue sorting and packing stuff. I really wish I could just do it for her and she could basically tell me what goes where. It has to be exhausting for her to do that and have baby tagging along inside.
