Friggin' Slammed

It's Friday in every definition of the word but you would never know it by the pace of my day. This entry will reflect that as well, meaning it will be short as I am short on time and interesting things to talk about for the day.

Step-Mom

Today my stepmom, Cyndi had to go in for a quick outpatient surgery at 1:00 PM so that was on my mind most of the day as well, hoping that all went well and on-time.

Fast forward to this afternoon around 5:30 PM and I received a text message that the surgery did in fact go as planned and everything went better than expected. That was great news to hear and we hope that she is on the men's for a speedy recovery.

Work

Today, as well as Monday I am doing interviews to try to hire a couple more developers to be a part of my group. I went into today's interview thinking he may not be an ideal candidate based on his résumé but I am happy to say it went better than expected and he is now at the top of my list of potentials.

One more interview on Monday, another potential candidate I do not think will be a good fit so let's see if I am wrong 2 for 2. If so, fine by me, so long as we get some talented new developers.

Food

On the way home we had to swing by Whole Foods and pick up a few things to get us through the weekend meals. We managed to find a bunch of stuff we really wanted but can't have due to this diet but luckily we found many good things we can have. For example we found this organic gluten free beer that is a pear brewed beer. They had raspberry and apple as well. Not sure how good it's going to be but if its anything like the one I had a year or so back over at Cicely's parents house then it will be tasty!

Honestly I just want a little beer buzz on a Friday evening without compromising all the work we have put into the diet so far. Cicely even more-so because she has been doing all of the cooking, preparing and shopping. This has been so much better doing it together and with her awesome cooking. Thanks baby!

Last Call

That will be it for this entry. It ended up being a much longer than I thought it would be so I guess my day was a little more eventful than I realized. Usually when they start off like today with training and meetings until lunch the remainder is spent head down and focused.

Photo: Anyone that know me also knows why today's photo was used. I wish I could have had tried the peanuts but they wont be reintroduced into our diet for a couple more weeks. I hope to try them though, you should too!
