All Hands Meeting
So today was our monthly all hands meeting for the entire studio. Lots of new information, keynote style talks and history of gaming presentations as well that dated back to our early game engines from the mid 1990's forward. Nothing new this time in the form of changes, studio craziness and that sort of thing - which I think many were worried about hearing.
Everyone was actually in good spirits and upon arriving made sure to hit the buffet line style brunch they had setup for us. Everything from waffles and pastries to fresh fruit (blue berries, strawberries, raspberries) and not to forget the whipped topping to smother them in (I skipped on topping and it was not an easy thing to do).
Inspiration
I think now after seeing the awesome restoration job that my co-worker did on his bike I now want to build up a Honda CRF50 as I have wanted to for many years, actually since about 2001 when I was racing in the local 125cc & 250cc motocross classes. It will be more of a fancy pit bike but I want it for the sole purpose of the build, not to race or even ride much for that matter (yea let the bashing begin). But the more I build stuff, the more I find that I enjoy doing so. Something about tools in my hand, adding parts, cleaning stuff up and so on is really good for my mind and soul.
One day I still plan to find a way to restore a Porsche 914 as I have wanted to since at least high school. The only real problem is that they are already fairly restored when you find them, or the opposite side of the spectrum and completely rusted out and in bad shape. We will see though, it would be a lot of fun to take a bunch of years and make it a reality.
Mow, Edge, Sweep
Alright I think that about does it for today. I need to get my butt going so I can get home early, well while there is still light out anyway. It is supposed to get crappy again by the weekend. Only rain for the most part, but I want to have the lawn manicured before then. Nothing like some free watering of the lawn, shrubs and trees from mother nature. Problem right now is that the lawn is hecka long from all of the moisture and cooler weather we had over the last week. If I had to wait yet another week because of rain it would be a nightmare to mow, edge and sweep up. So for now, enjoy your hump-day and big time kudos to my coworker once again for the awesome job on his 3 year bike restoration project - what a beauty!
Photo: Redline bike a friend / co-worker restored over 3 years. It's tough to see all of the detail he put into it, awesome job! He even let me take it for a spin! It was his bike when he was younger - he saw it sitting in the garage of his dad's shop one day and the rest is history.
