450+ CD's

Pretty average day today as far as the morning went. We did go outside for awhile and play some fetch with the fuzzy kid while getting a daily dose of vitamin D from the sun. Felt good even though it's a little bit cold outside. As I keep mentioning, it's crazy that its so cold out still and only a week before we are starting the summer month of June. Tomorrow the weather guessers are only calling for the high 60's and potentially some rain. All nice to me because it's not snow, but also kinda crappy because I like our pre-summer 80's weather that I think we are going to miss out on.

Diet

So I hate that word - "diet" the first thing I think of is every single one of the new year resolutioners lining up to get their newest copy of the newest fad diet - grr. But really we are on a diet although not to lose weight, but to cut out sugars, wheat, eggs, certain oils, fake sugars and many other things - unfortunately beer as well which is kicking my ass on this 3 day weekend. What's my point? Just to mention that it's now day 7 and we are doing great. Have not had any of the things we are not supposed to and everything is going as planned. It's harder than one might think because anymore EVERYTHING has friggin' sugar in it of some sort but we are managing. For me the hardest part is after dinner when I want a small dose of a sweet treat. For Cicely I think the hardest thing has been not being able to make us her amazing breakfast burritos. We will live, it's only 21 days.

Plans

For the most part today is going to consist of, or has consisted of more relaxing, getting things done, some helicopter flying as I plan to practice on the simulator for a little while and may even take the new helicopter out for an actual flight at some point today - even if to only hover a little bit in the garage or in the living room I think it will be a good idea to get some flight time under my belt with the actual helicopter. My friend from work is supposed to come over tomorrow around 11:00 and we are going to mess with helicopters as well so it would be in my best interest to get some practice in today.

Yesterday was pretty awesome in a weird sort of manner. I was able to get 2 closets straightened out and donate the items in them that we no longer want to keep moving around and tripping over. I know it probably does not sound like much, getting "2 whole closets cleaned out" but trust me, it is a big deal in my book. More importantly it will bring me one step closer to getting the shed organization project completed so I can get it off of the back of my mind all the time.

Compact Disk Project

Today one of the biggest projects that I need to get done is to take my 400+ CD's and get them back into their jewel cases, with the insert as well and neatly pack them up into a storage bin to be stowed away for many years to come. I would love it if I could simply digitize every single one of them but I honestly don't have the energy or desire for such a project at the moment. I wish there was somewhere you could send them, they would verify you have them and then you could get the digital versions. I know that Apple "sorta" does that when you have the CD version, but it still requires every disk to be inserted and used in some manner. Makes complete sense, but it's a daunting task. For me simply getting them all into the proper cases and so on will be a huge victory.

Fires Out

That is about it for today. We may BBQ up some tri-tip this afternoon or if we don't feel like taking the long trek all the way over to Whole Foods then we may just stick with some chicken for today. Cicely made this crazy turkey sausage chili soup stuff yesterday that we had for both lunch and dinner and holy cow was it amazing. I cant really describe how good it was with words, but if it gives you any indication - its making my mouth weather just typing and thinking about it right now!

Ok enough out of me - for anyone reading today's entry - apologies that it was a tad on the boring side, heck maybe they all are to a reader outside of myself or family - oh well it's for us anyhow and to give anyone outside just a glimpse of the highlights. On that note, have a great Sunday, I am most likely skipping any auto racing on TV today so I don't get sidetracked for hours on end. As much as I completely enjoy watching racing - I have to try and focus on stuff I wanna do, otherwise the next thing I know it's back to cube life again - aka the start of a work week.

Photo: Only about 200 sorted so far after just over 5 hours of working on it.
