Studio Picnic

Early start to the day. Our day started out with us attending an early training class at work for our new game engine. After it was business as usual.

Picnic

Around 11:30 everyone in my studio is meeting up at a nearby park for some BBQ, games and good old fashion hanging out and getting away from the usual day-to-day habits.

Should be a good time as usual and who knows, maybe we will win some prizes and related this year. I think that besides movie tickets, dinner certificates and that sort of thing they are giving away some DTO (aka vacation time) as well.

I know a lot of peeps walked away with several good items last year. We were not able to go, there was a short course truck race being held out by one of the motocross tracks - that was up my alley way more than even an awesome picnic.

The weather guessers predicted 80 degrees for the day so if they are close it will be nice picnic weather. Glad I remembered my sunscreen!

Terrible's

It's crazy, the Terrible Herbst gas station near our house was shut down today. The sign was removed, all of the fuel pumps were covered up as well. I could have sworn that it was open just yesterday so I am wondering what happened? Generally Terrible's does very well so something must be up, maybe a remodel? Did not look like it though. Not to mention they have one heck of a trophy truck and desert race team. Helicopter chase vehicles and everything. Nothing but the best and some big time dollars.

Otherwise

Not much else going on. My hope is that it will be a nice day that slides us into an even better weekend. Even though I may have to cut out of the picnic early to get some work done it will be a nice change of pace.

I was hoping to get that new mobile workbench today after work or early tomorrow but Home Depot has it listed as "out of stock" now. It's ok, I was bummed at first but I think I may actually get a workbench / drawer combo instead now. It's not mobile but will give me a little more work area, a few extra drawers as well as a spot to put stuff under it.

Fade Out

The week back at work after some time off last week, then the hustle and bustle of the studio move really made this week fly by, heck the month of April flew by! Lets hope that things slow down a tad and we can all enjoy the summer months. They will be gone before we know it.
