Memorial Day

What a crummy day it is outside if you had plans to BBQ, work on your suntan or anything in between. From the minute we got up it was either windy or sprinkling rain which only created the makings of a day watching Netflix and taking a quick nap on the couch, which for me is a big deal because I am not much of a napper.

Holiday Flying

So for most today is a holiday from the office, and for me it is no different - we are off work and can do what we chose so long as we show up bright eyed and bushy tailed tomorrow morning of course. I am sure a lot of people attended parades or gave thanks today along with their friends and family which is great.

Me on the other-hand chose to have a friend / co-worker come over and we planned to fly helicopters for a couple hours. Unfortunately the windy weather completely hosed that idea and we were instead stuck inside messing around with the simulator. As luck would have it, it was still a lot of fun and I learned a few things while doing so. He was able to change some settings on the controller and the simulator to more accurately relate to when I take out one of the helicopters for flight.

All-in-all I think it turned out to be a really good day and the only thing I would have changed would be the wind so we could have went out and flew the actual heli's outdoors. It would be my maiden flight of the Nano so it would have been cool to have someone around that knew the in's and out's of it should something be wonky. Oh well there is always next time and for now, I have some additional confidence to fly it on my own.

Chillin'

As mentioned it was a good day for chillin' inside and that was basically what we did later this afternoon. Watched a couple more episodes of Persons Unknown until I had to have Cicely pause it due to me not being able to keep my eyes open after a big lunch. Well not big like killer buffet piggin' out "too much", but more like super satisfying and awesome leftovers from food she has been making us this week that just hit the spot and put me into Zzzz-land. Even Oggy has been tired and keeping us snuggled up on the couch.

I don't think the cool weather is going to last very long though, and sorta as I expected and feared. According to the weather guessers it's going to be in the upper 70's and low 80's for the start of this week with this coming Saturday hitting the 90's. I figured the weather would not mess around and we would jump smack dab into the heat of summer and miss out on our 80's weather - dang it! It's still better than shoveling snow though.

Fade

On that note I think it's time to get back to it and enjoy what is left of this 3 day weekend. It's going to be a weird next few weeks because for some reason I managed to have about 5 doctor visits between now and the end of the month, well actually only 4 because one is at the start of July. Still way more than I feel like going to, especially if they mess up my progress at work or worst yet, require me to miss work for procedures and related - lets hope not! No time to worry and think about the "might happen" stuff right now. I am going to enjoy what is immediately in front of me instead.

I hope you had a great weekend whether you had extra days off or not. Mine ended up being really relaxing and enjoyable. The only thing that I would ask for is a couple more days to add to it!

Photo: My Nano CPx that I was planning to fly today. From the photo it looks nice and sunny out and it was - for about an hour up until my friend Aaron made it over.
