Ahh Choo

Today feels more like an end of summer fall day to me. It has been windy and only in the low 70's off and on all day. We have had fairly consistent amounts of sprinkling rain and at times some pretty crazy downpours an gusts - luckily they only seemed to have lasted for a few minutes at best.

Cizzle

Most of the day as well as yesterday I have been keeping an eye on Cicely and making sure she feels ok and is comfortable. She not only managed to bang up both of her forearms playing volleyball yesterday at the studio picnic but we are pretty sure she sprained one as well after trying to return a powerful serve that came her way.

With the rain, yesterdays wind at the park blowing around the cottonwood mixed with pollen blowing around today her sinuses have been going a little crazy. Sucks, I know first hand - and she has been either drowsy, blowing her nose or sniffling with an itchy throat and eyes since she got up this morning. No fun at all, but at least it's the weekend so she can get some much needed and deserved rest before jumping into a new week.

I forgot to mention that I was lucky enough to win one of the random prizes yesterday at the picnic. I won 2 tickets to the rodeo that we have here in June every summer. While I am not a huge rodeo fan because of the poor treatment to the animals we may still go and check it out. They were giving out gift cards for gas, airfare and games and other things as well as tons of other cool stuff. It was a lot of fun as we expected, the food was really awesome, we had beer flowing all afternoon which we don't always have at these events - heck I am really looking forward to the next one!

New Goodies

As you can tell from the photo of the day I went ahead and picked up 2 of the Craftsman workbenches this afternoon. I was planning to possibly get the rolling workstation from Home Depot that I was talking about last week but it was out of stock as of yesterday. Plus the more I thought about it, I am able to get nearly 3 times the work area going this route and still have a ton of space to store stuff under them or even add drawer or shelving systems to them to accommodate more stuff like tools and related.

As I am writing this I have not put them together yet and it should not be very difficult. Simply a few pieces of sheet metal, nuts and bolts, feet and a wooden top. These have the MDF (medium density fiberboard) top surface rather than the butcher board or sheet metal wrapped top that I normally like to get, but I figured that saving several hundred dollars was a no brainer. If the tops start to get too destroyed from use and abuse I will either replace them or put my own protective sheet metal top on them for little to no dough.

Oh and I should mentioned that once again they did not fit in the car as I thought they would so Cicely was awesome and sat in the back to be sure that the back of the car did not beat the hell out of the boxes on the drive home, or worse - beat the hell out of the back of the car. I am happy to report that everyone and everything made it home without a scratch.

Dive In

With that I think it's time to get out to the garage and at the very least start getting these read to be built. If not tonight then starting in the morning once I am fresh from a good nights sleep and have had the chance to pound some Blind Dog coffee!

Between the shed project, the garage project and organizing the closets in the house project I have a lot of things to get finished up and I am quickly discovering that they are not going to get done on their own no matter how much space and freedom I keep trying to give them to do so ha ha. Heck I still want to get my kick-ass safe as well as paint the garage, I gotta get busy!

Well not quite that fast, I need to get a little dinner in me (possibly some Chinese tonight - I have been craving lemon chicken for some reason). Oh and of course we can't forget that it's Saturday night which means that there will be a new episode of the Doctor on BBC America - cant wait!
