Lunch preparation was the next sticky situation. While getting out the lettuce and chicken to make wraps the rubbery edge of the Tupperware grabbed my full bottle of unsweetened vanilla flavored creamer and tossed it to the floor. The bottles lid broke off and the creamer flew over everything within a 3 foot radius. No biggie, just one more thing to clean up. We were already running late so what is 10 more minutes I guess, ugh!
Fuel
Finally out of the house and on our way when Cicely's VW Beetle goes "ding" letting us know it is nearly out of gas. Lucky for us there is one just down the street right on the way. Nope, it is closed and will be re-opening soon - uh oh we are on fumes as it is. The closest station now is 7-11 so that will have to do - if we make it.
Lucky for us we managed to hit every light green and almost zero traffic - that never happens so it was a nice gift today. We made it without pushing the car and filled it up. Back on the road and on our commute to work.
Cube Life
Looks to be a busy, week so hopefully I can translate that into a super productive one and get a bunch of game development done. I am pretty buried at the moment so I want to try and get my head above water before the 3 day weekend we have this week to celebrate Memorial Day.
Diet; Day 1 of 21
Today Cicely and I are started a 21 day diet to cleanse our systems of sugars, milks, many types of carbohydrates. Anyone that knows me understands that I hate the word diet in the sense that people do all of the fad diets throughout the year. Before summer, after holidays and of course New Years.
This particular one is much different and nothing of the sort. It does of course mention the fact that you may lose some weight but that is pretty normal when you cut out some of the foods necessary. Our goal is more to cut stuff out, then reintroduce them to see if anything stands out as a culprit. By culprit I am simply referring to things that may be giving a person indigestion, gas, nervousness and so on.
We will see how it goes. It's not really that big of a deal for me, I lived a 100% dairy free life for over 10 years so I think I can handle 21 days of cutting out some sugars and related. Fingers crossed for good luck!
E 'Nuff
I think that does it for today's entry. I need to focus my attention back on work as usual so I can get to the gym and outta here at a decent time this afternoon or early evening.
It's funny, my legs are actually a little bit sore from all of the in and out of the shed yesterday, standing and working for hours and hours is much harder than it sounds. I guess that is my queue to stick to cube life and to not pursue a career where I need to be on my feet and working in that manner all day.
