F'ing Wind

Dead tired today to say the least. The wind was blowing and gusting the entire night making it nearly impossible to fall asleep and stay asleep for any length of time. Today may very well be a long day because of my sleepy eyes and hard to focus dreary mind. Dam you wind - as I shake my clinched fist in the air!

Supposed to be another cold front coming through as well. I think that our high today is somewhere in the low 60's. only 3 days before memorial weekend holiday so that is not the weather most expect although I think it will flip to warm if not hot by then.

Tornado's

I spaced mentioning on Monday that there was a huge tornado in Oklahoma that flattened something like 7 miles of land. Everything from schools, homes, bowling alleys and anything else in its path.

I watched a few YouTube videos that people in the area recorded live. I know my parents and my sister were in one back when we lived in Missouri but I guess seeing photos of that was not as much of a "holy shxt" moment as seeing and realize how creepy and powerful they truly are.

We get a lot of crazy weather in Reno and I bitch about the wind but I am thankful we don't get tornado's on the west coast. Maybe an occasional dust funnel but that is about the extent of it.

Luckily I think most made it out of the disaster without injury. I am assuming of course as I have not looked for any tallies (news reported 24 dead as of today - so sad). On the brighter side of it I did see one story where a lady was being interviewed while looking for her dog and whatta you know, the little guy popped out of the rubble to say hello - very touching moment.

Anyway, I hope everyone involved recovers physically as well as their homes and assets are rebuilt soon. I feel for anyone loosing family, friends and homes. I hope I never have to go through it or anyone I know.

Moms

Tonight is our night to swing by moms and check on her to see how she is doing, make certain she is eating properly and so on.

As bad as it sounds I wish we could get her in somewhere to be cared for - it would really help keep her on track and on a routine. Unfortunately that is a long road, tons of paperwork and money we or she does not have.

Empty

I think that is about it for today. It's still super-ass-dam-cold outside and people are talking about having to turn their heaters and furnaces back on - same thing at my house. I need to get a heater for my cube now, I am right under the vent and its friggin' fa-fa-fa-freezin' most days. Winter should prove to be exciting if the heater is cranked on I will be sweating all day - boo! Anyway, enough outta me - happy hump day!
