Too Early To Rise

For some reason my body decided that it would be a good idea to wake up today around 4:50 AM this morning. I have no idea why but it just happened. So I figured I would get up out of bed and hang out for a few on the Internet or play a game and then I would get drowsy and be able to go back to sleep.

Well I am getting ready to go for a bike ride, on the trainer not in the cold, as I write this quick couple paragraphs of today's entry and it's already 4:00 in the afternoon and I have yet to go back to sleep or take a nap for that matter. I had a feeling that would be the case but was hoping I would be wrong.

Girls Day Out

While I am at home getting a few things done and mulling around the house a little bit both Cicely and Zoey are out getting stuff done. I think one of their first stops is going to be at a place called Hobby Lobby. Cicely has wanted to go there for quite a while and see what type of 'stuff' the store carries as well as if it would be of any use to her when she needs supplies.

Based on what she was telling me over a few back-and-forth text messages is that the place is a total madhouse. I guess it's more like the trendy place to be if you are not doing anything else during the winter you are doing some sort of hobby. Nothing like remote control and that sort of thing my understanding is that it focuses only on arts and crafts that deal with things like glue, glitter, painting - you get the idea.

Once they are finished with that store it will not be anything that much more exciting. I think they have one other stop that I cannot remember offhand exactly where but they are then simply going to the grocery store to stock up on stuff we need at home. Over the two weeks we were off work we did very little grocery shopping. When we did, it was only for things we needed right then.

Lawsuit

So back when I first purchased my last car, not the one I picked up in December, there was a class action lawsuit against the manufacture that I was automatically a part of simply because of the time frame that I purchased the car within.

Basically what happened is that they disclosed an incorrect estimate of the mileage you would get based on gas prices, diving habits and related. This of course pissed off a lot of people because they said they would have chosen another vehicle "potentially" had they known. The problem is, big picture we are talking very small amounts of mileage estimation error.

The way I see it is that it's another one of those things that shows people will do anything to make a buck off of the error.

Well because I was part of the class action lawsuit automatically, I filled out my paperwork and submitted it to them. This was two years ago or so and I think I received around $43 and some change in the form of a credit card.

You also had the option to get your refund as a dealership credit or towards a new lease or vehicle purchase. If you did one of the two things besides the card you actually received quite a bit more money. I think all said and done if you did the dealer credit to have service done to your car or buy parts or accessories you received 150% more than what you would have received on the credit card. Last, and the best deal depending on your current situation, if you chose to use your reward towards a new vehicle purchase or lease then I believe you received 200% more than the credit card amount would have been.

Anyway in the mail this week I received another notice in reference to this class action lawsuit. I thought for sure it must be a mistake or that it was supposed to go to the person that bought the car after I traded it in for my new one.

Rather than throw it away, I went ahead and filled out the paperwork online just to see what it was all about and reassure myself it was a mistake. Whatta you know, I will be receiving an additional $11. It's a little funny that I went through all of the hassle digging up all of the old paperwork for $11. I figure the money is going to go "somewhere" and I'm already a part of the class action lawsuit so I might as well get what's coming.

Big picture, the way that I look at this is that the company is very honest. Sure you could say they had no other choice other than to be honest because of the class action lawsuit. At the same time, if they truly made a mistake on this and corrected it that's awesome. You always have to wonder if they were trying to slip one by though. That's just human nature to assume is the case.

Okay, I'm Good

That's going to have to be enough for me today. I want to try and do a few more 3D prints as well as work on some photos for our family album I have been building for over a year now. I would also like to finally start the blog or photo library and I want to get going for Zoey. If I don't hurry up and get it done she is going to be graduating from high school by the time I get to it, heck she is already 10 months! It goes by so fast.

Weekends go by so damn fast that you have to make sure that if you want to get things done you do and if you want to just sit on your ass all day that you do that as well but know that the time is ticking away. I am choosing to try and get some stuff done and have some fun as well so with that I will rabble a little bit more again tomorrow.

Photo: The last bit of snow left on the lawn from just over a week ago. It was raining last night so we thought for sure there would be more of the white stuff this morning but there was not, too warm.
