Oggy's Weird Belly Lump

As you can see below I was finally able to get a really good print off of the 3D printer. This one had me a little concerned because it was estimated at just over six hours total printing time. That is a really long time for a 3D printer to be churning away at a file. All it takes is one piece to lift up off of the print bed and your entire project is pretty much toast as well as the time spent.

In the end the print turned out really good and once I had the support pieces taken off it looked even better and much more like its metal or cast aluminum master. The only thing missing now is something that it can loosen or tighten.

That brings us to today. I decided to print a nut and a bolt and instead of using a PLA material I am using ABS instead. For no reason really other than to use some of it up. I did use ABS for the rafting and I am not sure if that was the best idea or not because it may be much more difficult to remove the rafting. I guess that all I can do now is wait and see what comes out the other end.

Cicely also had a file that she needed printed for a lipstick container design she is working on. Because I was already in the process of setting up my files I decided to add hers to my print so we could get more out in nearly the same amount of time.

The only problem at the moment is that the file is saying that it will take just over 16 hours to have them all finished printing! Holy shxt that is a really long print time. I even moved the resolution way down along with the hits of the thing so it will print faster. Sure it will be a little weaker but that is not an issue because it's not meant to hold anything, simply more tests and learning.

The original estimate by the software was somewhere in the neighborhood of just over 6 hours so I have no clue where the other 10 hours came from. I guess if it's accurate I won't know how it all worked or didn't work by morning.

Oggy

So my best buddy Oggy, the fuzzy kid of the house, has a big lump in his belly right by his penis area. It almost looks like he ate something really big and it's moving through him. In the past when this has happened though it did not feel quite the same. Plus this one has been getting bigger as the day goes on it seems so we are really worried.

Cicely called the emergency number for the vets office and the person she spoke to said that if he is acting normal, does not seem to be in any pain or anything that it may simply be a fatty tumor type thing. I am of the opinion that this is not what it is. I think it may be something like a hernia from jumping so much and often as he tends to do.

In all honesty and hope, I would like it if it were gone by morning. Meaning he ate something and it just had to push through his system. Unfortunately I don't think that will be the case this time and we will still need to take him in to see the veterinarian before work.

All I can say is that I sure as hell hope that he is okay and there is nothing wrong with him. I also worry it's a bacteria from when he had his teeth done. That was just before the holiday though so I would have thought something would have shown up before now. I don't like it because of the unknown but my bet is on something relating to something being strained or possibly pulled.

Then There Is Me

I am not off the hook whatsoever for the week. I have to go in tomorrow morning and have my blood drawn to do a checkup on where all of my levels are sitting since my last doctor visit and since the doctor swapped out a medicine that I take for one that is just a tiny bit stronger. When I say a tiny bit I really mean it too.

We are talking the difference between the original being at say 0.112 micrograms and the new one being at 0.125 micrograms. Even with that minuscule of a Chang it can have a lot of different affects so it's ideal to keep an eye on it and the only way to do so is through getting blood drawn, which I hate probably more than the wind!

Wiped

That will end the entry for this kid today. It has been a fairly long day considering it's Sunday and most of the time I don't care much for Sunday's because I have a bad habit of staring at the clock on and off all day thinking of those things that I want and need to get done as well as those things that I am not going to get done because of the lack of time!

At least today I was able to go for a nice bike ride on the trainer, just under 13 miles and it was not the most easy course I have ever decided to go on either. It actually started out with a huge uphill and then thankfully a decent downhill, but on the trainer you still are required to pedal of course so no resting for me on this hill this time.

It looked like a lot of my friends that I follow online on Strava were able to get out and do some riding in the real word this weekend. I guess I need to get back out there and do more of the same as well if this next weekend is still just as nice as this one was. My problem is that once I take the bike off the trainer it will be a pain in the ass to set it back up again. I just hate seeing everyone getting all kinds of awesome records for the start of 2015 and I am missing out on some of them while they are still up for grabs anyway.

With that, I am going to end it for now - I hope your weekend was great! Hopefully tomorrow I will have nothing but great news about Oggy, but I am not going to lie, I am nervous about what his doctor is going to tell us, I really am. Fingers, toes and everything in-between is crossed for luck that it's nothing out of the norm.

Photo: This is a photo of my latest print from yesterday. It finished later in the evening around 9:00 which means it took around 6 hours and 20 minutes to print.
