New Road Bike - ORDERED!!

Really nice day outside today so I had to take advantage of it as much as I could, this meant a nice bike ride for how many ever miles that I was up to and enjoying the day and getting some sun on my skin now that my tan, what little I ha in the first place, is now gone for the winter.

Speaking Of Bikes

So yesterday we went up to the bike shop to pick up my road bike. The guys were doing some work on it to tune it up and help with the shifting issues I was having. All said and done the thing works really well now, the only problem is that I was sluggish on the ride which is crap because I have still been on the trainer at home and at times the janky one in the gym.

Anyway, back to the important stuff. I went up to pick my bike up as mentioned and see if Cicely's bike was in stock yet. Yes, she is getting a nice bubblegum pink beach cruiser bike. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on my new road bike and I am stoked to say the least.

Sure all said and done and out the door I will be looking at just under 8k but it has the best of the best on it right now as far as that level of bike is concerned. Sure you can spend more money on the race edition of the bike but that is not what I am after - I like the more relaxed position of the one that I decided on. Plus I added some bad-ass pedals that are all titanium and carbon fiber and new shoes to go with them. I am going with the Look brand of pedal this time as well. Almost identical to the pedals that I am running now, just much better quality.

The new roadie is scheduled to ship on February 5th so it should be here within 3 days after that. Then the guys will have to build it for me and I should be getting the call soon thereafter. I am in no real rush to jump on it at the moment but if it's in that soon I may have to take it out for a nice ride and see how she feels.

My only real concern is the reach to the bars, I have a feeling they will need to be changed from the 100 mm stem to something shorter or to something that is both shorter and angled up a little like I have now.

With That

I am going to call it a day. I am just getting to this post as it is pushing 11pm and my eyes are getting super heavy by the minute. Not to mention I actually did forget several times to write my post in the first place so now that I am I want to get her done and outta here. Have a great evening if you are reading this on Sunday, otherwise a great day at work or whatever you have planned for Monday. For me, I am going to just count the days until my new bike is here!

Photo: Last day of Oggy's medicine. Seems like the bump is going down, not sure if the medicine is helping or its doing it on its own. Either way I really hope that it continues to improve. The reason behind today's picture is I swear the horse in the animal medical logo looks more like a velociraptor, I always have to do a double take, ha!
