Same pattern as Saturday night where Zoey would fall asleep for a little while, roll over, start hurting and lose her pacifier and wake up. Cicely would adjust her and everything would be good for another hour or so.
I honestly have no idea if this happens with every tooth or set of teeth they get or if it's mostly with the front teeth? I will have to do a little research and find out more information about that. If it's for every set of teeth this is going to be a draining process that's for sure! Makes me feel so bad that we cannot take the pain away from her at times like this or when she is sick.
At least her fever is gone now, that is a big step towards her being back to normal and Cicely getting some rest. Hopefully this will be the last time this week Zoey has to have a long night, same for Cicely. I want my girls to rest up and have fun!
Printed A Bear
Last night after getting really pissed off at the janky software that comes with the Cube printer and then finding out that the software I bought for it, two different packages to be exact, are for PC only and not Mac put me in a bit of a mood to say the least.
Thankfully Cicely had been down this road before when she was looking for information on the printer and knew how to get the file setup and into the software. The software needs some serious work and a huge overhaul. It's something that I would expect from an independent developer 10 years ago!
Once past the software issue I started the process of printing the file and assuming that it would be one big headache after another.
First the auto level was performed and succeeded as it always does. Next was the auto Z calibration and it of course failed, just as it always does. Okay not "always", 99% of the time would be more accurate - big difference huh!
This immediately made me think "here we go again, either hitting the print bed or printing like shxt will be the result if I do the manual calibration, what choice do I have though? So I went ahead and performed the manual calibration, the values were way off from any others I had previously come up with by quite a lot so this was a little concerning.
Well what else can I do but give it a try so I put down a layer of the print bed glue, let it dry for a few and hit print. The printer made some noise, grunts and grinds and proceeded to warm up and prepare to print.
Once warm it ran a check on the model I wanted to print and gave me an estimate of 1 hour, 39 minutes to complete, including the raft piece I was printing underneath for support and to avoid issues with the piece coming off the print bed partially through the print. If I had or could get a heated bed for the cube this would not be an issue, not an option though so the glue and raft is it.
We checked on the file a few times during printing but left it alone for the most part in hopes that we would not jinx ourselves and put bad vibes in the room. As luck, I assume, would have it we ended up finishing the print, well the cube did, about 4-6 minutes early.
The room was silent now and I nervously and anxiously went in to see what I had after all this time waiting.
I am happy to report that the print in my opinion was a complete success and looks great! Some of the little imperfections could be improved by adjusting the model before printing so I am not worried about it.
There is a very noticeable amount of faceting in the print and I want to be clear that this was intentional and is not a fault of the printer quality, material or resolution the it can print. So we are really happy with this first test and I am ready to print something else. The only two things on my wish list would be faster prints and Mac versions of the software. I have a PC so I am not dead in the water with the two I have, it's just not ideal since I use the Mac 99% of the time except when I am running specific cycling training software and even that will be available on Mac the first part of this year.
Tablets For Teething
We are stopping at Walgreen's to see if we can get some teething tablets for Zoey. Even though they are homeopathic and pretty much sugar from what I understand, we have heard from two parents now that they worked great on their kids. Then tonight we were told the same thing from Zoey's teacher at daycare. So I guess we are going to pick up a pack of the pills and the liquid version and give them a try and see if they are anything more than hocus-pocus.
Cycling
Once home had just enough time while Cicely was making dinner, Oggy was eating his and Zoey and I were done playing so she laid down for a nap that I could get dressed and head out to the garage to do some miles on the trainer. Pretty good spin, only rode 10.4 miles today but that is more than enough to burn some calories and feel good after a day at work.

Lights Out
Alright that is about it for today. Time to get to it and get through it, the more I can get done today the less I have to stress about tomorrow and the rest of the week. Always a great feeling to have Friday at your fingertips and know that it's smooth sailing.
Hoping that your Monday treated you fair and your week is well under way otherwise. Hopefully tonight is a good one for Zoey and Cicely and they are able to get a good nights sleep, they both deserve it after the last couple of nights that's for sure.
Photo: Gummy bear I printed for Cicely on the Cube. It turned out really good considering the issues we had with the test prints. Also, it's meant to be faceted, that is not a printer or resolution issue.
