Anyway the video is entirely based around the building of a supercar. The car, or should I say, the star of the show is a new car that McLaren began manufacturing in 2011 or 2012 for the "general public". Also I should clarify that when I say the car is being produced for the "general public" it's more in relation to the very small percentage at the very top of the income bracket.
The Factory
The show begins with a 15 minute overview of the factory, putting a great deal of emphasis on the meticulous eyes of perfection the operations manager, chairman and every other employee at the company. Almost so much so that most would consider it a medical condition requiring prescription drugs to treat and to make him more "normal".
Everything from the tiles at the entrance to the tile and glass as well as the tools and machinery on the production floor are spotless, precise and ready to do exactly what they were meant to do in an almost, if not exact, environment of a surgeon and their patient.
The Paint
The area that they prep for painting the cars, mixing the colors as well as smoothing out any rough or uneven surfaces is just as clean and precise as you'd imagine it to be as well. There are even those that have the primary job function of double checking another paint booth employee's sanding and precision just to take it one step further and closer to perfection.
There is nothing left to chance during this or any other process in the paint areas. They have to be extremely aware of and keep out any particulates in the air, on their clothes and believe it or don't, they also have to consider the deodorants and hair prices they use as they can negatively impact the paint, sanding, priming processes. More importantly they could adversely affect the long term quality of the paint out in the elements vs. on the race track.
The Conclusion
I could easily go on and on about this factory and not only the attention to detail with every aspect of their design and manufacturing, it's better if you watch it for yourself I think. So I have put a link below in case you are so inclined to do so. If you have any interest in supercars, F1 racing or simply enjoy learning about how things are made, processes of machines, robots and humans working in random to achieve precision and quality, then this will be right up your alley and 55 minutes or so well spent to learn something new.

Close The Door
Otherwise it's time for me to get on to those things that I wanted to do today now that it's the weekend. I have a decent size list so we will see what I am able to get through and what has to be put off until tomorrow or even next week or weekend for that matter.
I went to bed much earlier than anticipated last night, falling asleep on the couch where Cicely decided to leave me until I woke-up around midnight and stumbled into the bedroom, Oggy in my arms both of us ready to go back to sleep once again.
The downside to this is that I was still up and out of bed at 5:30am and even though I am a little tired even now, only 4 hours later, I really don't want to fall back asleep. Instead I will do my best to not waste the time with dreary eyes, looking at a laptop screen, iPhone, iPad or TV nodding off every few minutes fighting the urge to sleep.
Once I am moving about I think it will be much more stimulating and staying awake will not be a problem I have to tackle. Then, once done with several tasks, want to dos or exercise should I have a nice 'something' for lunch and desire a nap at that time I think that will be fitting and earned. That way I can still manage to get up, do more of the things that I want to, end up in bed later in the evening feeling fulfilled, well rested and that I spent my time wisely.
Until tomorrow spend your day doing what you love or what you have wanted to do all week. Monday will be here before we know it and we will once again have the desire and need for a weekend or day off to do what excited us.
Don't forget, if you have that extra hour and want to zone out before your midday nap, possibly while having lunch, check out the video I was talking about at the start of this entry and see what it takes for an F1 racing company to transition into building production cars - it's really cool if you are into that sorta thing!
Photo: The McLaren that they were ramping-up to build as a production car in the show I watched today. BTW, should you have the extra cash lying around I would absolutely love to have one of these and promise to take only the most pristine care of it!
Some photos have disappeared, weird!
