So I thought that Oggy's lump on his belly was already improving this morning after a couple doses of his anti-inflammatory medicine that we picked up at the veterinarian.
Unfortunately once he was up and moving around Cicely checked it and noticed that it actually felt the same to her. I was blown away because I was so stoked that it had already felt smaller. I think it was because of the way he was laying when I felt it.
Hopefully in the next couple days it will start to go down so we don't have to take him back in for biopsy or something of that nature. I really don't want our little dude to have to go through more crap. He has been through so much all of his life when it comes to medicine and going to be treated for stuff.
Otherwise he is super healthy and a very smart boy that is really loving as well. I don't think we could have had a better fuzzy kid if we custom built one ourselves.
Bike Shop
So I FINALLY a took my road bike into the shop today so I could have them go through the bike and make it run better especially the shifting. I also want them to see if they can add a small spacer in there to give me a little more height on the bars. The bars and riding position is fairly comfortable now but could be improved a lot with only a few millimeters of adjustment.
I am also in need of some new inner and outer cables, new bar wrap and gel pads, possibly a new chain and who knows what else. I just asked them to dig into it and replace all that looks worn or messed up in one way or another. No idea what my bill will be for this but if it works better than it does now I don't really care, well within reason.
In theory they should have the bike back to me and all set by the end of the week. I hope so because I really want to go for a ride outdoors this week. Maybe head out to Verdi or one of the further rides that I do during the summer. This time of year flats are not as big of a deal it seems but I guess the sand on the side of the roads, namely in the bike lanes can be the issue to be dealt with and honestly a little bit sketchy as well if you have a bit of a crosswind and are hauling ass down a nice long hill.
New Road Bike
I am probably going to go ahead and order the new Lapierre road bike as well when I go in to pick up my bike. It's pretty awesome and I am excited to get something with electronic shifting and all the other bells and whistles I have been yearning for over the summer.
The bike is basically the same ride position as I have now which is awesome and exactly what I am looking for. My current bike is made for endurance riding and not racing so the position is great and does not tweak my back like I thought a road bike would.
The other cool part is that I was under the impression I would be spending close to $8000 or so on the new one to get everything that I want. Instead it looks like it will be more in the ballpark of $4600 which is much better and my bank account appreciates it very much! Heck if I have a decent tax refund this year it may almost cover the entire cost.
Cicely's Bike
So I also need to take Cicely's bike into the shop and see if they can do something for us to put her on more of a cruiser bike. The mountain bike will just be too much for her I think and towing Zoey on top of that fact is just not a good mixture to be honest.
Based on what she saw before it looks like she can get a really cool one for not a ton of cash and in an obnoxiously bright color as well which will really make her happy. More than likely some sort of a bubblegum pink if I remember correctly. No problem there, that is right up her alley, the only thing that would make it better is if it were sparkly also.
Another Friggin' Cold?
So I am a little bit stuffed up today on the right side of my head and my throat has been a little bit sore. More than likely this means that I am getting another friggin' cold - exactly what I don't want especially if I want to go ride this weekend outside.
I mean I have done it in the past and while I mostly feel good while riding I can tell that my energy is down and I end up with my nose running like crazy or hocking and spitting up chunks of green crap from my chest.
Then the next day, more times than not, I feel as though my ass has been royally kicked and handed to me on a silver platter. Still totally worth it but more difficult on my body.
The other thing is the trainer. I am not sure if I am kicking as much ass on that as outside cycling or not. My weight has increased 7 pounds, maybe 8 since the end of summer and that really pisses me off. I can get back to where I want to be no problem, well it is a problem and a whole crap ton of work but I know that I am capable of doing it!
Okay Enough
With that it's that time once again to put a dot at the end of the final sentence and call this entry complete. It's been a fairly long and busy day and now it's prime time to go home and relax, maybe 3D print some parts or put the mountain bike on the trainer and put some miles in.
Either way tomorrow is already the middle of the week and time to begin focusing on those things that will help wrap up the week and get us into the weekend for a couple of days.
I hope that your week is treating you well and you are getting out of it at least what you are putting into it. If not it may be time to reevaluate and try again!
