Welcome To The Fire

So after yesterday I can fully understand and appreciate the reason that nearly 100% of the managers in my game studio do not develop in tandem with managing. There is simply not enough time in the day to make it all happen and do either one very good if you tried to do both.

My day started early with the thought and hope that I would be able to get some development done before noon. I had a working lunch that was scheduled to last until 2:00 followed by a meeting for a kick-off of a new game in the same room. About an hour in between that and one other meeting at which time I was supposed to go to the gym but it was simply not in the cards today - I felt it would be better for me to chill for a few and try to catch up on emails - so I did.

So with that I will have to end the entry for today - probably being my shortest entry to date! I am crazy busy and it's not letting up anytime soon from the looks of it. Plus I plan to stay late tonight to get some development done that is quickly falling behind.

Hey at least I am getting an entry done even with the crazy day, although doing so by writing this on my way to another meeting that was scheduled for this afternoon last minute. Yep that is always the case with this kind of stuff - business as usual, eh! Something I have to get use to and get better at that's for sure. It will all come with time so no rush, I just want to learn all that I can as fast as I can to support my team the best I can.
